We are ready to cap essential food prices and support people with the cost of living. Other parties are trying to stop us from bringing prices down. On May 7th, vote SNP for a government that’s always on Scotland’s side.

Most of the commentary and investigation on the Mandelson affair seems focused on the minutiae of who approved what, and who said what, and what process was followed during his vetting. But the real question is: why on earth was Starmer so keen to appoint someone so clearly unsuitable for the role, even before the vetting process was started? His relationship with Epstein and his previous unscheduled departures from government due to financial impropriety were all a matter of public record. And yet neither the media nor the opposition on Government seem to be focusing on this. Maybe they're afraid of what such an investigation might uncover.

$VET cycle tells us a lot, I’m very bullish on it now and we will get another opportunity later maybe higher low or a double bottom before the big cycle as 2021.

My X Revenue Experiment: The Details Last month, I had solid engagement on X and received about $400 in ad revenue for a two-week period. Tomorrow, the next payout drops. The overall metrics are slightly up across the board (except replies and reposts). Based on that, I can assume a $450–$500 payment tomorrow. However, X has been tweaking how they reward X users lately: -They’re pushing hard for original video content (which I rarely post) -They seem to be de-emphasizing shares & reposts (which I do a lot) -Impressions from unverified accounts now count for zero revenue Recently, this account gained thousands of new followers from China, most of whom are unverified. So those big spikes in impressions and engagement might be misleading. The actual payout could end up lower than the last $400, not higher. I’ll find out tomorrow. Any guesses on the exact amount? If you guess correctly, there might be a surprise in it for you 💕

No this isn't a joke, remember 16 year olds vote on Scotland, blatant bribery of easily influenced teens🤦 You actually have to admire it on a certain level.

I’ve loved this #Jaws experience this morning on the world’s first full size replica of the Orca. It’s taken 3 years to create and you can go onboard in Conwy, north Wales. Amazing props, attention to detail and no need for a bigger boat… @GMB 🦈

A survey of 1,000 heat pump owners last summer, carried out by Censuswide for Ecotricity, found two-thirds said their homes were more expensive to heat than before. My gas is 5.46p kWh and electricity 25p kWh. Electricity is far too expensive.⚡️📈💷

@Skelhorn You realise she didn't win any game? It was just money that appeared in her online betting account, the same as if you had money deposited by error into your bank account, you haven't earned nor do you have a legal claim to the money. This story has deliberately avoided specifics

26 Years in this industry and it still bothers me players get treated so poorly. Ok it’s a glitch, explain it but don’t give the poor girl nothing after telling her she’s won a million. £50k from MetaWin and an apology on behalf of our industry. We’re not all bad, I promise. 🙇‍♂️

It occurred to me the other day that a lot of my recent disagreements with people about world events have probably been caused by the fact that I look at everything from the viewpoint of an engineer trying to solve a problem, and avoid creating new problems. The debate on the UK smoking ban for people under a certain age is a good example. Would it be a good thing, overall, if no-one smoked cigarettes any more? Yes. What is the best way of achieving that, without causing undesirable second-order effects? Carrying on doing what we've been doing, which has clearly been successful, since very few young people smoke cigarettes now compared to one or two generations ago? Yes, I think that would work. Would a ban achieve the same result? Perhaps, but it might suddenly make cigarettes attractive to young, foolish, contrary people. Will banning it for some people but not others be easy to enforce? No it won't. What negative side-effects might it cause? It might create a brand new black market, which could help to finance more crime. It will require smokers to carry ID to prove their age - another small step towards digital ID for everyone. And it gets people more accustomed to the idea that the State's job is to ban things and interfere with people's personal life and personal choices. That might not seem so bad for smoking if you're not a smoker, but what happens when they come for your drug of choice, or something else you enjoy, or want, or need? Who will speak for you? The Iran War is another example. I've had a lot of stick and lost followers for opposing the war. Is the current regime in Iran authoritarian? Yes. Would a change of regime there be a good thing for the population? Yes, it probably would. Is executing the leadership, bombing infrastructure, threatening invasion, the best way of achieving that? No. Is it likely to be counter-productive? Yes. Just look at the state of the world now compared to before the war (re-)started. There's every chance the outcome will be a more authoritarian regime in Iran than before. I suppose this is why governments are typically led by lawyers and economists and politics graduates rather than engineers. They're more interested in ideology and money and power and control than coming up with real, workable, long-term solutions to actual problems.

99.7% of EVs will never need a battery replacement. Petrolheads can keep parroting “what about the battery?” all day. The real-world data says otherwise. Tracking thousands of EVs built since 2022: Just 0.3% have needed a battery replacement (outside recalls). That’s 99.7% still running fine. Now compare that to ICE: Some engines hit failure rates of ~3.7% That’s 12× higher than EV battery replacements. Even the best engines barely approach ~0.3% And that’s just the engine, not the rest of the drivetrain. Here’s the reality: EVs • One core system • Minimal moving parts • Thermal management + smart chemistry (LFP especially) • Gradual, predictable degradation ICE • Hundreds of moving parts • Constant heat, pressure, friction • Multiple failure points • When it goes, it goes hard Modern EV batteries are cooled, managed, and preconditioned to last. So while people keep yelling “battery replacement”… They stay quiet about far more common, far more expensive engine failures. The data is clear. The panic isn’t and the lies are coming undone.
