Thoughts on #NFFC tonight. Absolutely delighted for the 600 or so that made the trip over and very jealous that I wasn't able to make it over for this one. Can't imagine the delight in that away end, and it's fully deserved for every single one of those away fans. Had no real issues with the selection from Pereira to start the game - it's not ideal to be in this situation but fully understand the reasoning behind it. I did however not enjoy his subs, more so the players coming off rather than the ones coming on. Unless he's got an idea that McAtee is starting on Sunday, then for me he should've finished the game as he was really making Forest tick. I didn't agree with Milenkovic coming off either, but at the end of the day Forest are through and their key players haven't played more than an hour. A big shout out to Zach Abbott - his last appearance was rough but he played a very calm and composed game tonight - to be fair he had little to do defensively but I was most impressed with how well he played with the ball at his feet. A great night for him, his family & the academy. Which also brings us on to the captain. Easily the best goal Yates has scored for Forest, and what a moment for him too. One of many who absolutely ran his socks off tonight, so much so I wonder if he'll even be involved on Sunday as he looked to be carrying a bit of an injury. A big night for Dilane Bakwa too, perhaps we're finally getting to see the best of him - I wrote when Pereira was appointed that long-term he could work as the RWB, we saw why tonight and although I wouldn't be starting him there on Sunday, he's shown he's a real option if trying to push for a goal. Some credit for Lucca too - clearly not ready to play 120 minutes but he put in a great shift and outside of his miss in the first half I thought he had a very positive impact on the team, albeit in a slightly different way to Igor Jesus, who himself will be well rested for Sunday. Hopefully the players can use this fantastic feeling tonight to go into Sunday with confidence - they've scored a couple of goals, they've shown good resilience and they've bonded again with the away fans.

Ibrahim Sangare action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Came on for extra time, he settled in OK and was able to keep the ball moving well. There were a couple of times he was caught in possession but these weren't in dangerous areas. Took a great penalty as well to send Forest on their way.

Elliot Anderson action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Probably the only disappointment on the night was Anderson's silly yellow card that rules him out of the first leg. It's not the first time he's said something to a referee and been punished for it in Europe - he needs to realise quickly you cannot have the same back and forth with continental referees like you can in the Premier League. Otherwise, Anderson battled hard and was kicked off the pitch at times. He should still be fresh enough for Sunday, and at least he'll have a bit of extra time after international duty to be ready to face Aston Villa.

Ola Aina action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Thought he should've been one of Forest's first subs when Pereira shifted the formation slightly, perhaps an earlier introduction would've kept the clean sheet. Aina settled in quickly, had a chance to win it when Gibbs-White put him through and later got forward well down the right too.

Morgan Gibbs-White action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland A couple of moments where I didn't like his reaction to a couple of poor passes by team mates but otherwise Gibbs-White had a really nice impact coming in off the bench. He carried the ball with purpose and was switched on defensively too, especially when he turned a defensive corner into a chance for Aina.

Neco Williams action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Another with a time-limit of an hour or so tonight, Williams came on and played exactly like you'd expect him to. A great penalty in the shootout to pretty much seal the victory.

Murillo action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Not surprised to see him come on, more surprised to see him replace Milenkovic in what was clearly pre-planned. Murillo had one iffy moment on the left touchline but otherwise was pretty solid against an aerially strong side.

Lorenzo Lucca action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Obviously a bad miss in the first half where he doesn't get his foot over the ball. But outside of that I thought Lucca was very good up top for Forest until he eventually ran out of energy. Even in extra time though, he was still able to get involved despite being nowhere near match-fit enough to play 120 minutes. Glad to hear Pereira praise him after the game, and although he won't be here past the summer he's shown he can still contribute between now and the end of the season.

James McAtee action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Another to come in and make a big impression right when Forest needed it. He's a fantastic example of why I've spoken so often about putting Forest's summer signings in a position to succeed. Playing as one of two 10s makes use of all of McAtee's strengths perfectly. If Pereira decides to move Gibbs-White wide again - I think it's a real close call as to whether he or Hutchinson start on Sunday, especially if Forest stick with a back 5.

Omari Hutchinson action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Thought he did really well in sticking close to Lucca when Forest went long - Hutchinson created 3 chances during his time on the field and looked pretty lively throughout.

Dan Ndoye action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Wasn't able to impact the game in the same way he did on Sunday as he was playing a deeper as a wing-back, but Ndoye's performance was still encouraging. I wonder if his early substitution means he may be in the starting lineup on Sunday, especially with Hudson-Odoi's absence from the squad tonight.

Nico Dominguez action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland A brilliant performance from Dominguez - my only real criticisms of him usually are for a lack of return in the final third, but he took his goal really well tonight and did everything you'd expect from him in the other areas of his game. He was clearly struggling late on in the second half with his fitness after putting a real shift in - I'd imagine he'll be on the bench on Sunday ready to hopefully make a positive impact to close out the game!

Ryan Yates action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Can't think of a man who deserves a moment like that goal more than Yates. Get's so much unwarranted stick because of his technical limitations, but it's nights and games like this that show it's not just about being 'pretty' on the ball. Yates is the leader of the squad and I couldn't be more delighted for him. It was a fantastic strike for the goal and he probably should have had one in the first half, and maybe another if he times his movement right in extra time.

Dilane Bakwa action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Started as LWB but played most of the game on the opposite side - where he prefers to be. Bakwa was very good tonight and you could tell very early on he was really zoned in. Some great delivery from set pieces, with variations including the short one that led to Forest's first goal. I mentioned when Pereira was appointed that Bakwa could eventually make his way into the side as an RWB and he's shown here that it's a definite option going forward.

Morato action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland By his own standards Morato was outstanding tonight. There were a couple of iffy moments, particularly one when he was easily shoved off the ball in his own box (probably a foul but not with tonight's ref). Hopefully this performance gives him plenty of confidence going forward, especially if Jair Cunha is going to be absent for a while.

Nikola Milenkovic action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland Thought he was pretty much perfect tonight, I was disappointed to see him come off in the second half as he was dealing with everything very easily - with him on the field I don't think Forest concede. Do understand the reasons why, with Pereira saying he didn't want to give the 'first' team more than 60 minutes - Forest got away with one here I think.

Zach Abbott action map for #NFFC v #FCMidtjylland I was worried about his selection pre-match but I cannot speak highly enough about his performance and how calm and composed he was throughout. Any neutral watching that game would never have thought he is so young and inexperienced. I've still got reservations over his long-term future at Forest but he was outstanding tonight. So pleased for him and all at the academy.
