Vanderbilt has been making a push to distinguish themselves from the Ivies by becoming an explicitly Jewish-friendly institution. This is a smart move which will help their university grow prestige over time as families start to see it as preferable to Harvard.

For the first time ever, Chabad of Vanderbilt hosted its annual Passover seder inside FirstBank Stadium, bringing hundreds of students together for an unforgettable on-field celebration. Read more in the @Tennessean: vu.edu/knt33

Until recently, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living lavishly in the United States. Afshar is the niece of deceased Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. She is also an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime who celebrated attacks on Americans and referred to our country as the "Great Satan." This week, I terminated both Afshar and her daughter's legal status and they are now in ICE custody, pending removal from the United States. The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes.

The paradox of NYC right now is that it’s not “dying” in the sense that it’s losing population of people who want to live and enjoy the benefits of living in a city with rich food and culture. But it is dying in that it’s losing the economic engines that have always paid for these things as it swaps out more tax payers with more tax revenue need. Policymakers are still running the economy as if it’s the 80s with Wall Street: financial sector tied locationally It’s really not good.

New York City is losing jobs, making life more difficult for Mayor Zohran Mamdani as he seeks to close a big budget deficit while emphasizing economic justice rather than growth. thecity.nyc/2026/04/03/job…

Spain passed a law banning trade in defense materials with Israel. Right away, it learned that Airbus, which accounts for 60% of Spain's air exports, cannot operate without Israeli tech and exempted it, gutting the law. So much of what Europe does today is pure virtue signaling.

To @NYCMayor — if you do indeed sincerely wish us a “Chag Pesach Sameach” (🙄), I hope you’ll consider what this holiday actually means to the overwhelming majority of Jewish residents of the City you were elected to lead. Here is one sentiment expressed to me by an American living in Israel, which would resonate with almost every Jewish New Yorker: “At tonight’s seder, we celebrate the Israelites’ passage from slavery to freedom. With God’s help and under the leadership of Moses, they left behind lives in which they had been dependent on the decisions of others. They entered a new reality in which they had agency and were free to make their own choices. I believe that in Israel today we are living out the meaning of the transformation that began with the Exodus from Egypt. “When the State of Israel arose in 1948, the Jews who lived there and those who supported their efforts from abroad were re-enacting the Passover story by reclaiming full agency as a people. In declaring independence, they determined that Jews would again make the difficult choices, including how to live meaningfully and how to defend themselves and their way of life.  “As we prepare to observe Passover, our people’s Festival of Freedom, I am proud to be part of a nation that has reclaimed its agency. The war with Iran, while it exacts a grim price in our daily life and while its outcome is as yet uncertain, is a powerful reflection of what it means to be, in the aspirational words of our national anthem, Hatikvah, ‘a free people in our own land.’ Our success in realizing that age-old vision brings with it great responsibility. The collective Jewish acceptance of that responsibility and our exercising it, in war as in peace, is worth celebrating.”
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

Happy Passover, Chag Pesach Sameach, and a Zissen un Koshern Pesach!

My assessment: 1- IRGC made a bet. And the bet was that they would keep the pressure on the Strait of Hormuz, and set the market on fire, as it would be the easiest way to make Trump think twice, withdraw, TACO, or have Gulf countries turn against Trump. But it didn’t work. It won’t work militarily or just in general. UAE is joining the war in a more proactive manner, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi are also more eager now than ever. Qataris have completely switched against the IRGC. But also, Trump himself said "I don’t care about the strait" obviously meaning that others should join the fight, but he denied to IRGC its strategic value. Which absolutely sucks for them given how they are pissing off their own partners, China mainly. The goal of every single military operation is to either enhance posture or change the calculus of your enemy in a way that favors you, blocking the strait isn’t achieving that for them. 2- IRGC thought that Trump given that he kept on saying that "it’s going fast" that dragging and delaying discussions or surrender to Trump’s demands, they would buy time. But they don’t understand that it’s a war, you can’t buy time when you’re being hit at the core of your command and control and your units aren’t being replenished. I’m not sure if they are delusional or if they are in a state of denial and my understanding is that it’s the latter because they constantly underestimate US resolve just like they underestimated Israel last year. 3- Trump, if you haven’t noticed, is ready to escalate, it’s a problem for IRGC because they are so used to being the ones who set the tempo of escalations, (see Iran-Israel April 2025) U.S. options have widened so much compared to just a weak ago. In other words, doesn’t look good for them. They made too many enemies and too fast.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon on the Iran conflict: "I would step back a little when you say it’s a war of choice. There was no imminent threat? They’ve been killing people around the world for 45-plus years. They funded Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, they have terrorist cells here. They were about to get ballistic missiles that can go almost 3,000 miles. They never gave up nuclear. I’m praying it ends well." - Axios

The Muslim Brotherhood has long mastered the art of dual messaging. To the West, it presents itself as a network of charities, activists, community leaders and political organizers. Yet the same organization is, in Egypt and elsewhere, linked to terror cells, assassins, and attempts to carry out mass-casualty attacks. If the US and its allies are truly committed to confronting extremism, they seriously need to confront the Muslim Brotherhood in all its forms, not just when it explodes into violence. gatestoneinstitute.org/22399/egypt-da…

It was clear that Hind Rajab story was fabricated. But the world was weeping, Hollywood movies were made in her honor... The story of Bibas kids is real. Filmed by the terrorists themselves. Story of Noya Dan is real, and so many others. And there are no movies about them.

New York is about to do a huge payoff to the teachers union, letting them retire at age 55 (instead of 62) and lowering their contribution rate from 4.5% to 3.5%. This sweetheart deal will cost New York $1.5 billion. Meanwhile, taxpayers are fleeing New York for other states with lower taxes.

It’s day 33 of the war, and my hometown is still being heavily bombed. Iranians are only now, with great difficulty, realizing that for all these years, they have essentially been living inside a massive military base the size of a country. They’re finally understanding why Iran, despite all its resources, has remained so poor: because all the money has been spent preparing the regime for its apocalyptic final war. None of this is defensive. It’s all offensive. After every strike, Israel posts reports in Persian explaining exactly what it has hit. The main reason for cutting off the internet is so that people won’t see or understand what’s really happening. Underground missile cities, bunkers built beneath residential neighborhoods, tunnels upon tunnels upon tunnels. It’s horrifying. This regime must go. #IranWar#ThankYouTrump

Masterclass in demagoguery from Ms. Rachel: "Wanting kids to live isn't antisemitic." True sentence. Five words. Zero accountability. A whole community smeared. Because in that framing, the only reason Jews would object... is that they don't want kids to live. This is what modern Jew-hatred looks like dressed up as kindness.

If the Jew Hunters come to your area and knock on your door - you don’t have to engage and you can close the door without saying a word to them. Then they don’t know if you support them or you don’t. Afterwards what you should do, if you are Jewish or support Jewish people in your community is go online and complain to the police about feeling intimidated by them and scared of what they will do with your information. The police are saying they will only stop them if reports are made from householders. So please do it. Stand up to the new fascists in High Viz and Keffiyehs. An online complaint doesn’t take long. #SheffieldJewHunt
