At this stage, we didn’t even see this much momentum from Labour Party in 2022. I am hopeful 🙏🏽🙏🏽

AFCON 2024 final - Nigeria had just lost to Cote D'Ivoire in a match that started at exactly 8pm local time. As a journalist who covered the final, you would probably finish filing reports and other post-match events : medal ceremony, mixed zone and press conferences; say around 11.30pm or 12am. Then, you start looking for a means to exit the stadium. You see, the reason I referenced that final is because of my own experience. After that game, we spent another hour at the Ebimpe stadium in Abidjan, waiting for transportation. That stadium is out of town, and we had to rely on transportation for media to leave. The few ones that were available around 12am, there was a scramble for it, until we eventually got one around 1am. By the time we got to the Main media center that night in the heart of Abidjan, it was already too late to get a taxi to our accommodation. We just slept at the MMC, and left at dawn. People underrate the strain a big final has on a city. The visiting fans, media, and many others go through a lot to watch a final that starts by 8pm. This 5pm kick-off solves a lot of problems. The game finishes early so that fans can still navigate their way out of the stadium. People can still catch a late train to other parts of Europe. Most of the fans (PSG and Arsenal) are coming from out of Budapest. A final that finishes early helps them more, than one that eats late into the night. Change is constant, after all, not many people now complain since UEFA moved the Champions League final from its traditional Wednesday nights to Saturdays.

I do wish @ChampionsLeague would tell us why the final starts at effing 5pm on Sat and not like every other final ever at 8pm???

@TomolaGroup They fined them almost same amount as the unregistered sim cards, that's crazy! 🤣🤣🤣 When a company goes through things like this and bounces back it's always a good signal for me.

Atlético Madrid have just destroyed the trust many people had in Fabrizio Romano in a single day.

There’s only 1 coalition in Nigeria today, and that is NDC. It’s the real opposition coalition and has two of the biggest movements in Nigeria, Obidient and Kwankwasiya, working hand in hand. ADC is not a coalition. It’s just Atiku and his paid shills that are there.

Rashford’s biggest problem has always been comfort. He never believed he had real deficiencies in his game, so there was no urgency to evolve or add new dimensions. Now even Barcelona seem unconvinced despite his numbers because when it mattered, he only did the bare minimum… nothing more than what players like Ferran or Fermin can already offer. Taking him back at United would only create more problems. His supporters won’t accept him being benched, even if others outperform him, and that kind of noise can divide a dressing room fast.

His PR subscription has expired; the years of underperforming have finally caught up with him. He disrespected the club that brought him to the limelight even when they were paying his unjustified wages. He had the world at feet, instead of working hard, he chose to use PR to market himself beyond what he actually is. At the end he forgot he was a professional footballer.

The delusion around Rashford fans is something I’ve genuinely never seen before. They still act like he’s a top player and that it’s everyone else’s fault he hasn’t succeeded. - First it was Mourinho’s fault - Then Ole’s fault for playing him through injury - Then Rangnick for benching him - Then Ten Hag for misprofiling him - Then Amorim for “getting rid” of him - Then Flick for using him as a touchline winger - At some point, they even blamed the club because Rashford needs an overlapping full back and apparently the squad didn’t have one. - Now even his agent (brother) gets blamed because Barcelona don't want him permanently When will these people realise that an average player gets treated like an average player? You can support him wherever he goes if he’s your favourite player, that's fine but you cannot change reality. He’s not who you think he is, deal with it and move on.

And the worst part of this whole insecurity situation is that, the person who answered security questions for Tinubu in 2023, is currently in prison.

I went to this roadside gas vendor close to our area this evening to refill my gas. When I got there, I noticed he had increased the price from the ₦1,600 he sold it to me the last time I came, to ₦2,000. So I told him the price was too high because when he was selling for ₦1,600, the actual gas station was selling for ₦1,100… meaning the difference was too much. Omo! The man got offended immediately and told me that if I can’t buy, I should go to the gas station nah! Meanwhile, the gas station is very far from our area. Bike fare to and fro is ₦800 because one trip is already ₦400. So, I stood there thinking about it for some minutes and later realized that since I already had ₦2,000 with me, I could actually go to the gas station. Because even if they had increased their own price, the highest should be around ₦1,200. So I would still have enough money for transport back home. And besides, their meter completes pass this roadside vendor’s own... Okay! Then, I stopped a bike and he carried me to the gas station. Only for me to get there and discover that the gas station was selling for ₦1,550, and not even ₦1,200 oo. I just stood there for some minutes thinking about my life. The man there now asked me how many kg I wanted and I told him, “Put 1kg.” He filled it and I paid. After paying, I asked him if I could sit on one nearby chair there and he agreed. About 10 minutes later, he came back and asked me why I was still sitting there… if I was waiting for my bike man. Lol! Waiting for my bike man ke!? Me wey dey gather strength for the journey ahead. Because na trek I go trek dey go house like this o 😭 Chinecherem Onu 🖊️

I met a rich man who hasn’t used a washing machine in years. He was sharing how he met the woman who now washes his clothes and why he chose her instead of using the washing machine at home. She had knocked on his gate one day and met the gateman. She asked to see him, and when he came out, she introduced herself and explained what she does. He said he initially wanted to tell her he already uses a washing machine, but since he also needed someone he could trust with errands, he decided to give her a chance to wash his clothes that day. He asked how much she would charge, and to his surprise, she quoted her regular price, the same amount she charges other clients who aren’t rich. He kept asking, and she kept giving the same price. Impressed, he handed over his clothes. That’s how she started coming every Saturday to wash his clothes, and it’s been four years and counting. He said, “When I meet people who render services to me and don’t try to rip me off because I have money, my respect for their integrity triples. That’s the kind of person I want to keep around me.” He also mentioned that she now helps him with market runs, and he pays her well for her services. According to him, she’s very appreciative and has never come back to ask for loans or burden him with family issues. He added that even though she isn’t formally educated, she has a level of work ethic that many educated people lack. I picked something from his story.
