Did you know this decision comes ahead of Carney's planned expansion of MAID eligibility to include mental disorders starting in March 2027. 😤😡 This would mean those dealing with inadequate mental health support, poverty, or social isolation could choose death as a “solution”!! If we truly value dignity, we’d flood mental health services first , not hand out lethal injections like candy. @ABDanielleSmith MAID was introduced as a narrow, compassionate last resort, but there is mounting evidence that it is drifting into a substitute for care. When death becomes more accessible than help, that is a society losing its moral bearings. Alberta’s initiative deserves support.
