I have no problem with the Canadians and Europeans in my comments scolding me when I talk about decoupling. I have a serious issue with the Americans who are rooting for Trump to fail simply because they don’t like his politics despite the obvious negative repercussions losing hegemony will have on our collective children and grandchildren. We are in the shit. Suck it up and vote him out at the polls. Until then STFU if the best you can do is publicly hope that Iran turns into a dumpster fire for our military or that France further undermines our leverage over Europe. If this is too much to ask you don’t deserve to benefit from the fruits of the hard men of the prior century who tirelessly worked to fortify the dominance and lifestyle you currently enjoy.

@TMTLongShort Out of curiosity, what is your career field? When it was time to choose between the group learning to build physical things for your fellow citizen or the one skimming a little off the top of each transaction and fleecing counterparties, which did you choose?

I don’t follow. Are you saying capital is less valuable than labor. Are you seeing I’m less American because I didn’t build something with my hands? And where does that math start and end? Should we stack up how many businesses and buildings my family has built here vs yours. Normally I’d just ignore replies like this but I’m genuinely befuddled that you seem to think this is some kind of gotchya. @TMTLongShort It’s not a gotcha. But for this conversation it’s important to know whether the opinion is coming from someone who is actually in that builder group you discuss rather than the type who feels the need to invoke family status when defining their legitimacy.

But I schedule a factory everyday and the inputs from the factory I schedule (that wouldn’t produce jack shit without me) are used to make goods that we all use daily. Everyone plays a role.

@ManufacturingGC @TMTLongShort You are contributing to the real economy. The same is not true for someone who subsists entirely on owning appreciating rent extraction claims on your labor. If the US is forced to start producing rather than only extracting then those two groups face very different futures.
