Why it matters: The chatbot era is ending. OpenAI is repositioning ChatGPT as an operating layer for work and life, a direct push toward higher-margin products ahead of its expected IPO.

Chat is "dead". OpenAI is redesigning ChatGPT into a superapp! Coding tools, AI agents, partner integrations with Canva and Booking. The shift is about margin, not features, ahead of a likely IPO.

Software Engineers, what’s your backup plan if Artificial Intelligence writes better code than you in 2 years?

@NanouuSymeon full stack, not even close. frontend you need one mental model. full stack you're context-switching between UI state, API design, DB schemas, and infra all in the same hour.

Which one is more difficult Frontend or Full stack?

@callmidavid depends on the project type. data-heavy? backend first every time. something visual where you need to validate a concept fast? frontend can work. but I almost always regret starting with the UI when the schema changes underneath.

@YashHustle_22 writing it myself at 4 is the most honest take in this list. sometimes the best agent is your own muscle memory. Claude Opus 4.8 at 2 checks out though, that model is a different tier.

@komal_uk01 VS Code + Claude Code is sneaky good, the integration is tighter than people realize. Cursor wins on raw speed but Claude Code inside VS Code fits better in existing team workflows.
