A lot of this comes down to poorer kids just not knowing what to do. I didn't know that I had to apply for an internship in the WINTER of my sophomore year to get a sophomore summer internship to leverage into a junior summer internship to get a full-time offer senior year.

During EndSARS, I confronted this older man who was complaining bitterly that we “young drugged-up fools” were causing traffic and preventing him from going about his day. I tried explaining to him in a calm manner that we were also fighting for his right to not be exploited or harassed by the police and he started insulting me.
If it helps bring anyone comfort, I gave it to him back and I’m sure the very specific insults I threw at him that day made him reflect for a long time and that he’s probably still reflecting.

Very fascinating to hear older people refer to Endsars in a derogatory manner. It’s like they think it was just a bunch of youth who decided to go fuck shut up for a couple weeks. Like they completely missed the point.
