Last night I attended the 19th District Council’s monthly meeting, which included presentations from @ONENorthside and @NonviolenceChi. These orgs do critical work to reduce gun violence across Chicago. City government must do more to ensure they receive the funding they need.

The @CCPSA_Chicago just made history nominating 3 officers for next CPD superintendent. Congrats to Shon Barnes, Angel Novalez, and Larry Snelling on your nominations. And thanks to the Commission for conducting the most community-driven selection process Chicago has ever seen.

We need your help! Since last month, the 19th District police station has been hosting migrants arriving in Chicago. We're partnering with LakeView Lutheran Church and many others to fulfill basic needs. There are 4 ways you can participate in this effort. 1/7

2. Save the date: Tuesday, May 30th at 6:30pm. A main job of District Councils is to provide a monthly public forum to discuss policing and public safety in the district. Be sure to attend this first-ever event in the 19th District. Location and additional details to follow. 3/4
