@MinutemanAgain Fatty red meat is literally the reason we're here.

Robert is thirty-six years old. In 1247, this is not young. Robert knows this. His knees know this. His back has known this since approximately 1239.
Robert lives in a village in Worcestershire with his wife Agnes, three surviving children, and two chickens he is not allowed to eat because the chickens produce eggs and the eggs matter more than the chickens.
Today is a Tuesday in March. Robert will describe it as a Tuesday in March. The concept of a 'week' as a unit of leisure is not yet something Robert has access to.
5:00am - Up. Pottage on the fire. The pottage is oats, leeks, and some dried parsnip from the autumn store. There is a small piece of salted pork in it, approximately the size of Robert's thumb. It is mostly flavouring. Robert eats around it for as long as possible, then eats it, then thinks about it for the rest of the morning.
6:00am - Field. Robert works the lord's strip first, then his own. The ground is still cold. His boots have a hole. He has had the hole since October. He has packed it with rags. The rags are wet. They will remain wet until June.
Robert is technically eating a plant-based diet. He is not doing this by choice. He is doing this because meat belongs to the lord, the deer belong to the king's forest, and the last man in this village who was caught with an unlicensed rabbit spent a period in the stocks that his family still doesn't fully discuss.
10:00am - Brief rest. Rye bread, hard. A small onion. Robert thinks about the pig that was slaughtered in November. He thinks about this often. The memory of fat is a specific and enduring thing when you don't have much of it.
1:00pm - Back to the field. Robert's average daily calorie intake is somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 calories, the majority from grain. He is doing agricultural labour that modern exercise scientists would classify as extremely high intensity. He is, measurably, running on insufficient fuel. He is aware of this in the way that you are aware of things that cannot be changed: completely, and without drama.
4:00pm - Home. Agnes has made more pottage. It is similar to this morning's pottage. Robert eats it. Robert's teeth hurt. They have hurt for two years. There is no dentist. There is a barber-surgeon in the market town seven miles away. Robert cannot afford the barber-surgeon and cannot take the day from the fields. His teeth continue to hurt.
7:00pm - Sleep. Robert will be awake again at five. He is thirty-six. He will probably not see forty. The leading cause of death for men in his position is a combination of infection, injury, and the slow arithmetic of malnutrition across a lifetime.
Somewhere, eight hundred years from now, someone will describe Robert's diet as "ancestral," "plant-forward," and "aligned with the earth."
Robert would have a great deal to say about this.
Robert does not have the energy.

Rice is very nutritionally rich. A person could survive very healthy on just white rice.
History would dispute your theory here. Most of us alive today are from good ol’ peasant stock. Those who lived on seafood generally did best with the high cholesterol diet of shellfish & crustaceans. No red meat necessary.
The wealthy were little people, highly diseased (both genetically & environmentally) & had short life spans.
English

Famine foods we're told are health foods:
Grains: What you eat when you can't hunt. Calories to prevent starvation. Not nutrition.
Legumes: Peasant food. Packed with antinutrients. Requires hours of soaking to make barely digestible.
Rice: Asian populations adopted it because it grows in flood-prone areas where nothing else survives. Not because it's optimal.
Potatoes: Irish ate them during the famine because literally nothing else would grow. Then a million people died when the potatoes failed.
Meanwhile:
Beef, butter, eggs, cheese: What wealthy people ate. What made children grow tall. What fuelled exploration and conquest.
We've been convinced that poverty food is health food while actual nutrition is dangerous.
The greatest marketing achievement in human history.

🚨BREAKING: The NY Post obtained security camera footage showing the moment a mother realized her 7-month-old had been shot in the head.
The gut-wrenching video shows mother Lianna Charles-Moore noticing that her baby girl, Kaori, had been struck by a bullet while sitting in her stroller inside a Brooklyn bodega.
“I was hugging [my son], and then when I looked to my left, my daughter was just there, lying there. She was shot in the head. She was just bleeding. It was just too much,” Charles-Moore said in a phone interview with the NY Post.

@ConcernedC45825 @takeseriously_ @muongas @aishahhasnie Yeah that’s why the problem never gets solved. See ya 👋
English

@2AndyPanda @takeseriously_ @muongas @aishahhasnie Oh bunk.
Even Trump has differentiated between hard working undocumented immigrants and those with a criminal record.
Most people with any common sense in areas that rely upon that labor agree with my position.

I've seen birth tourism up close. It's a total abuse of the system.
Think about it -- someone like me, who was not born in the U.S. but has lived here since I was a 6 years old, will never be able to run for President. But a child born here through birth tourism, then taken back and raised in their parents' country, never growing up with American values, somehow can.
American citizenship is not an "insurance policy."

@MbarkCherguia Yeah, she’s attractive, especially for an American. Go to Europe then you’ll understand how disgusting the typical American is.

Do you remember how, in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus said to His apostles, “Watch with me! Stay awake with me!” We can still do that at the altar of repose on Holy Thursday. That’s a practice worth recovering. @thegnewsroom

@bjkurko @marcthiessen Unlike other NATO member states, Poland shares a border with war ravaged Ukraine who is currently holding Russia back. Very different situation from the cowards the US has been protecting fir decades.
English

@marcthiessen I have been to Poland countless times and they are more pro-American than even Israel. I am very surprised at this decision. I'd like to know what the people of Poland think.
English

So many longtime NATO supporters saying the same thing right now. I helped bring Poland, Hungary and Czech Republic into NATO. But denying us basing and overflight is inexcusable, as is their failure to help with Strait of Hormuz. No one asking them to bomb Iran, just let us use our bases and help escort ships. If they can’t do that, NATO has no purpose.
Clifford D. May@CliffordDMay
I'm pro-NATO. But I can't think of a single argument to refute what @MsMelChen says here. Not one. If others can, please weigh in.
English

If Spain et al let the US use bases in their countries to launch attacks, Iran will bomb them like they’ve bombed the GCC. The US has been incapable of protecting those allies, due in part to poor planning. Why should Europe invite similar attacks on their soil due to Trump’s poor preparation?

Three Jerks were arrested at Miami airport
Three very annoying people were arrested at Miami International Airport after refusing to pay an extra carry-on fee, delaying a flight to Philadelphia. Nafisa Dockery, Dionjana Cochran, and Davana Cochran faced trespassing and resisting an officer charges; Dockery also had an extra battery charge.

@WallStreetApes @KimberlyStutzm8 Charge every Chinese with immigration fraud, revoke citizenship from children due to fraudulent obtainment, revoke Visas. Why is this not happening? They don’t need to be in the US to do it. 😡

20 hotels in California used for Birthright Citizenship Fraud
“Federal agents swooping in to raid what they are calling maternity tourism rings. The ring helps pregnant women, most of them in this area from China illegally travel to the U.S to give birth to American babies”
“Investigators say this building and at least 20 other locations, they raided in LA, Orange County and San Bernardino counties double as maternity hotels. People who come from China to the United States for the sole purpose of giving birth”
‘Chinese clients are charging $15,000–$80,000+ per package for housing, visa coaching (to conceal pregnancies), transportation, and post-birth service’
We have to ban birthright citizenship

Gospel of the Day (John 13,1-15)
Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father. He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end.
The devil had already induced Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot, to hand him over. So, during supper,
fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power and that he had come from God and was returning to God,
he rose from supper and took off his outer garments. He took a towel and tied it around his waist.
Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and dry them with the towel around his waist.
He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Master, are you going to wash my feet?"
Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later."
Peter said to him, "You will never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me."
Simon Peter said to him, "Master, then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well."
Jesus said to him, "Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed, for he is clean all over; so you are clean, but not all."
For he knew who would betray him; for this reason, he said, "Not all of you are clean."
So when he had washed their feet (and) put his garments back on and reclined at table again, he said to them, "Do you realize what I have done for you?
You call me 'teacher' and 'master,' and rightly so, for indeed I am.
If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet.
I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.

Today is Holy Thursday, the day the Passion of the Christ begins.
After washing the feet of His disciples and offering His own Body and Blood at the Last Supper, Christ retreats to the Garden of Gethsemane. He knows exactly what is coming. The scourging, the thorns, the agonizing weight of the cross. The burden of every sin in human history crushes down on Him until He sweats drops of blood into the dirt.
Before a single Roman soldier laid a hand on Him, the sheer psychological and spiritual terror of what He was about to absorb crushed Him so violently that His capillaries burst, bleeding through His pores into the soil.
Friday was the physical execution, but Thursday night was the ultimate battle of the Will. This is the exact moment He looked into the terrifying abyss, accepted the cup of God's wrath, and said: "Not my will, but Yours be done." He didn't wait to be captured. He fought and won the war in His own soul before the enemy even marched up the mountain.
In His darkest hour of dread, He looks to His closest companions for support. He finds them fast asleep. Their comfort won over their loyalty. Shortly after, the heavy silence of the garden is shattered by the arrival of the mob, the glow of torches, the drawing of swords, and the ultimate betrayal sealed with a kiss from a friend.
Tonight, the altars are stripped completely bare. The tabernacles are left open and empty. The Church descends into mourning. The modern world continues to trade Him for silver, mock Him for cheap applause, and sleep soundly through the spiritual war. Do not be like the sleeping Apostles. The Passion has begun. Hold the line.
