A new study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences studied the correlation between industrialization and the work of impressionist painters Monet and Joseph Turner. A fascinating example of art meeting science!

The impressionist style has dimmer objects, whiter hues, and a low-contrast “out of focus” feel. So does polluted air, in which particulate matter scatters and absorbs light.

Were the paintings of Claude Monet and other impressionists just “telling it like it was” during the Industrial Revolution? Maybe the dreamy scenes were Monet painting exactly what he saw—growing air pollution in rapidly modernizing Paris and London. lnkd.in/g4TavxZ6

Recently 2B Technologies began collaborating with local air agencies to further customize the AQSync. We are exploring the possibility of adding BTEX and Methane to this already highly customizable air monitoring solution.

The EPA is continuously conducting community air monitoring near the East Palestine train derailment site. Thankfully the air quality seems to be normal, and their data indicates no issues with the air quality.

Students around the world measured ozone levels for the first time ever in some countries.
