I was drafted this day. This picture shows everything… the struggle, the stress, the losses, and the hard work that went in from the day I was born up until this moment. Life changing. I remember everything hitting me all at once. Even though I had gotten the news maybe 20 minutes earlier that I was getting drafted, my mind still wouldn’t allow me to believe it until I actually heard my name come across that TV. That’s when it hit me. I chose to stay home that day. I didn’t want the big stage or the cameras somewhere else. I wanted to be surrounded by the people who loved me, pushed me, challenged me, struggled with me, and believed in me even when things were hard. This moment wasn’t just mine. It belonged to everybody in that room. Every sacrifice. Every late night. Every doubt. Every prayer. So if you’re going through something right now, I want you to hear this… Continue to struggle.
