SERVICE I’ve been trying to put into words what I saw last night. What struck me most wasn’t the fight, the venue, or the people in attendance. For one night, the focus was on veterans, service members, first responders, and the men and women who have dedicated their lives to something bigger than themselves. I honestly can’t remember ever seeing an event of that scale centered around honoring them. As I walked away, one thought stayed with me. Of all the things I’ve accomplished in my life, the greatest honor I’ve ever earned is knowing that one day, when my time comes, an American flag will be draped over my body. Not because of who I am, but because of what that flag represents. Freedom. Opportunity. Love. Faith. Good. When I think about last night, that’s what it was really about. A country honoring those who have served it, and a reminder that there is no greater privilege than earning the right to be covered by the flag of the nation you love. Thank you, President @realDonaldTrump , for opening the White House and creating an opportunity for so many Americans to come together and celebrate this country and the people who have dedicated their lives to serving it. God Bless America. 🇺🇸

Dear Christians, I think it’s time for mainstream Christians and Latter-day Saints to lay down their arms. I enjoy a good theological debate as much as anyone, and I’m not saying that should end, as long as it’s in good faith. But, why are we wasting our ammunition in this stupid holy war? (I’m guilty as well.) While we squabble over irreconcilable theological differences, we forget we largely share social values and can easily live in peace together, respecting each other’s religious liberty… Meanwhile, we’ve got… - Radial leftists poisoning our children with all manner of Marxist, postmodern ideology- gender theory, sexual degeneracy, critical race theory, de-colonization, communism, etc. - A “woke right” that is pushing antisemitism, conspiracy theories, isolationism, anti-capitalism, and sometimes actual Nazism. - Muslim Jihadist barbarians who are trying to invade Western civilization and make our nations into Islamic State hell-holes. -Globalist elitists who are intentionally letting those barbarians through the gate because they wish to commit cultural suicide. None of these groups will protect our freedom of religion. Western civilization is under attack. You may not consider me a true Christian… I may consider your creeds to be apostate… But, morally and culturally, we are all Christians. Western Civilization became great because it had Christian values at its foundation. We should work together to preserve that heritage, and turn our fire towards our true enemies.

One man in the building had something else entirely: a classified engagement that the United States government kept secret for more than 70 years. Royce Williams is 100 years old. During the Korean War, on November 18, 1952, the Navy pilot engaged a formation of Soviet MiG-15 fighters in a 35-minute dogfight over the Korean peninsula. He 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐞𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫 with battle damage. Because Soviet and American pilots were not supposed to be fighting each other directly, the U.S. government classified the engagement. Williams kept his silence for more than seven decades. He received the Medal of Honor for that flight in February 2026 — some 74 years after the dogfight. At UFC Freedom 250, Williams flanked UFC lightweight veteran Michael Chandler for his ceremonial walk to the White House octagon. Also at Chandler’s side: Arlington first responder Captain David Jenkinson. Chandler had been enthusiastic all week about his D.C. appearance — the broadcast call captured what everyone in the crowd was thinking when Williams walked out: “𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘰𝘺𝘤𝘦 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘣𝘰𝘺, 𝘩𝘶𝘩?” A fighter entering a cage beside a man who once won a 𝐨𝐧𝐞-𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭-𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚 and never breathed a word about it for seven decades. Libi Cohen-Meguri was murdered on October 7th at just 22 years old. She went to dance at the Nova festival and was shot by Hamas terrorists while trying to escape on Route 232. At 8:11 AM, she called her parents: “I’ve been shot in the stomach, I’ve been shot in the arm, I’m losing blood. I’m going to die.” In calm and heartbreaking words, she understood the end had come. She asked to speak to her twin brother Tomer and little sister Maya: “I’m going to die. Just listen. I love you, Yariv — the best dad I could’ve had. Mom, please stop screaming, just listen — you’re the best mom we could have asked for. Don’t forget to be a good mom to Tomer and Maya. Tomer, how lucky we were to live life together. I love you. Maya, never forget you are the treasure of my life.” Her parents begged her to lie on the road and pretend to be dead. She did. But the terrorists saw her move. “Mom, they’re coming to shoot me again...” Screams in Arabic. A long burst of gunfire. And the call was cut. Alone on the road divider, her body was riddled with bullets at point-blank range. Murdered in cold blood. But Libi was light. Joy. Love. A proud and outstanding IDF infantry officer, full of life and laughter, always giving to others. Her photos radiate kindness. Her memory will live forever.

Most people remember Tom Landry standing on the sidelines of Dallas Cowboys games. Few remember him sitting in the cockpit of a dying bomber over Europe. Before he became one of football's most famous coaches, Landry served as a B-17 pilot during World War II. Flying from England, he led missions deep into enemy territory where every flight carried the possibility of never returning home. Then came his 30th mission. High above Europe, German anti-aircraft fire found its target. Explosions ripped through the bomber. One engine failed. Then another. Then another. Then another. Suddenly, all four engines were gone. The massive B-17 was no longer flying. It was falling. Inside the aircraft were young airmen who knew exactly what that usually meant. D*ath. Panic could have spread through the crew. Landry never allowed it. Witnesses later recalled how calmly he fought to keep control of the powerless aircraft as it dropped toward the ground. With no engines and almost no options left, he guided the crippled bomber toward a field in France. Then came the impact. Steel scraped across the earth. The aircraft slammed into the ground. Against all odds, the crew survived. The young pilot had brought them home. Years later, America would know Tom Landry as the coach who built the Dallas Cowboys into a dynasty. Fans would admire his discipline, leadership, and calm under pressure. What many never realized was where those qualities were forged. Not on a football field. But inside a shattered bomber falling from the sky during World War II. Long before he coached champions, Tom Landry was already saving lives. Story based on historical records. @VirginaRay57067 @RBaruch @SanderSassen Mean people do mean things. Your sacrifice is and will be an inspiration and example for generations. It is impossible to balance the scales after a loss, but the secure feeling to a scared soul is also impossible to measure.

June 14, 2017: our daughter Rebecca Baruch graduated from high school in the Netherlands. Weeks later she made aliyah. After a preparatory year, she joined the #IDF, serving for four years before returning to duty on the afternoon of October 7, 2023. Rebecca passed away on January 21, 2024. She is buried on Mount Herzl, the only female soldier of this war accorded that honor, plot 18A - third row from the top, third grave from the left. She lived it in service of something larger than herself. #RebeccaBaruch #AmYisraelChai 🇮🇱🕯️

A huge congratulations is in order! Malik Jordan has officially entered the history books of the American legal system. Having completed his entire high school curriculum by age twelve and a university degree in political science by fifteen, Malik spent eighteen months studying advanced jurisprudence independently at his kitchen table. Yesterday morning, the state supreme court confirmed he achieved a top-tier score on his very first attempt, making him the youngest licensed attorney in the nation. He begins a federal clerkship next month. How inspiring is this young man’s journey?

So happy for you! I know you have a VERY dedicated coaching staff and training support, but if you don’t put the honest work in, then it is wasted. YOU made a wonderful memory for my wife and I watching. I hope you journal these moments when all is well. You need to love yourself enough to create something that is by you and for you so when the times get challenging, that you and your children can rekindle your passion. Congrats, and thank you for representing.

Chris Nikic, the first person with Down syndrome to complete an Ironman, completes Ironman 70.3 Massachusetts. Shortly before the race, Nikic announced that he needed a guide to run alongside him for the race. That's when Dr. Tommy Martin decided to step up. "I learned more in this race than almost any other I have competed in, and none of it was about race tactics or how to PR. It was about life, perspective, determination, and grit. I owe all of that to Chris," Martin said. "I hope every finish line Chris crosses serves as a reminder to the world: your diagnosis, your situation, your circumstances do not define your potential!" Congrats, Chris! On my way home this afternoon, I spotted an elderly white woman lying on the sidewalk at the corner of Peoria and 49th Street, while a young Asian woman was trying to talk to her. I quickly turned around and parked in the Burger Street parking lot just as another car arrived. I got out of my car at the same time as a young Black man. We both checked her condition and saw that she had fallen backwards while using a walker, hitting her head on the concrete. I said I would call for help, and the young Black man went to his car to get a soft jacket and gently placed it under her head to protect her from the scorching heat of the pavement (it was 38°C today). Soon, other kind people arrived. A young white woman took an umbrella from her car to protect the woman's face from the sun, while another brought towels to place under her bare arms. A young Hispanic employee from Burger Street came out with a bucket of fresh water and a cloth for her forehead. Together—Black, White, Asian, and Hispanic—we all worked to help an elderly white woman who had fallen. This is the America I believe in and love: an America filled with compassion, kindness, and love, regardless of race, age, or gender
