My younger son is on a mythology kick at present (thanks largely to the @NatGeo wonderful Greeking Out podcast). The podcast started with a Greek focus, but has covered a range of myths from across the world - it’s a great introduction, nicely done.

I don’t know how any parent can hear the descriptions - let alone see the graphic evidence - without a visceral physical response. It’s unthinkable. Indefensible.

That means the difference between driving at 30km and 60km/hr is under 4 minutes (assuming a constant 60km/hr across the city. Active travel and safety advocates note the increased fatality rates for pedestrians at speeds over 30km/hr.

Interesting to see responses to the reduced speed limii in the inner city core in Galway. Some motorists decrying the difficulty in keeping a car motor running under 60km, and the time lost from the lower limit. For reference, the furthest distance covered is 3.8km.
