Our guy @ADButlerOW is knocking out his last chemo treatment today. He arrived at @KUMedCenter today with a $10,000 check from Butler's Brigade for cancer research. As I always say, winners win and @ADButlerOW is a winner! Thankful for our community!

Congratulations to @OlatheNorthBB! @KSHSAA 6A State Champions in 🏀! First in school history! Amazing 2 year run that started last year with a runner-up finish. These Eagles set a goal and never lost sight. Tonight they brought it home. Well done. 💪@ADPriceON

Sunflower League basketball is on another level this year. The league has a chance to go 1, 2, and 3 in boys 6A. And SM South girls have a title shot too. Definite Sunflower Power this year! 🌻🌻 @KSHSAA @ADJohnsonOPS233 @ADPriceON

Congrats to Jason Radel, Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Gardner Edgerton High School, on being named the KIAAA Kansas Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association AD of the Week. Radel is in his third year as Athletic Director at Gardner Edgerton High School, where he focuses on building strong programs that serve students, coaches, and the entire community. His path to education leadership includes a diverse background of service and experience. Before entering education, Radel served four years on active duty in the United States Air Force and later worked as an operations manager for U.S. Bank. Radel began his career in the Gardner Edgerton School District as a middle school special education paraprofessional before serving as a special education teacher, at-risk teacher, and 504 coordinator. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University, a master’s degree in special education from Pittsburg State University, and a master’s in building administration from Emporia State University. Originally from Ohio, Radel grew up playing football and baseball and developed a lifelong appreciation for athletics. After joining the Gardner Edgerton district, he began coaching middle school football before moving to the high school level, where he served four years as Director of Football Operations and also coached softball. Radel credits mentor John Sedler for inspiring him to pursue athletic administration in order to support student-athletes and coaches on a broader level. He believes strongly in service-based leadership and the role athletics play in shaping young people and strengthening school culture. He says the most rewarding part of his role is seeing student-athletes accomplish things they once believed were impossible and helping support coaches and programs behind the scenes. Jason and his wife Kelly have been married for 26 years. They have a son, Jaylon, a Gardner Edgerton graduate who now serves as a sprints coach for the track program, and two grandchildren, Jabari and Anyla. #sportsinkansas #KIAAA #KansasInterscholasticAthleticAdministratorsAssociation @KIAAAks
