Is that consistent with your experience/your understanding of best practices for initiating a new team into training? I honestly have no idea what is typical or common. Seems 0-60 to me given some of the kids are one-sporters with no other conditioning prior to this. Thoughts?

Question for people who have either run or coached track at the high school level: My son went out for the freshman team. First week of practice: 2 hours a day - stretching followed by sprints at 100% for the remainder. Max exertion from start to finish... 1/2
