The story of Dick Hoyt and Rick Hoyt- known as Team Hoyt, is one of the most powerful examples of endurance and love in sports.
Rick was born with cerebral palsy and could not walk or speak, but he communicated through a computer.
In 1977, he asked his father to push him in a race, and after finishing, he told him he felt “not handicapped” while running.
That moment became the foundation of a lifelong journey they would share together.
Over the years, they competed in more than 1,000 races, including marathons and Ironman triathlons.
Dick would swim while pulling Rick in a boat, cycle with him on a custom seat, and run while pushing him in a wheelchair.
