A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves..

Evidence matters. But evidence alone is not enough. What matters most is what we do with it. In today’s High-Level Dialogue on AGUKA under the theme “From Evidence to Scale,” one message stood out clearly: youth entrepreneurship is delivering real results in Rwanda, and it is time to scale what works. The evidence spoke for itself: between 2022 and May 2025, AGUKA-supported enterprises created 128,000+ jobs, including 30,000+ decent jobs. That is not just impact on paper, it is livelihoods, dignity and opportunity at scale. The economic returns are just as powerful: AGUKA-supported businesses generated RWF 34 billion in income, nearly RWF 10 billion in net profits, and over RWF 2.25 billion in tax revenues. Investing in young entrepreneurs is not charity. It is smart economics. The value-for-money story is striking. For every RWF 1 million invested, AGUKA generated around RWF 54 million in business income, RWF 15.8 million in profits, RWF 3.6 million in tax revenue, and 48 decent jobs. Evidence matters.
