The way I viewed it was Hausa linguistics is more pervasive than fulfulde. Hence why many Fulani growing up in Hausa land loss the language in favour of Hausa. In my town, our area is called unguwar Fulani. I bet you can't find more than 10 fulfulde speakers in the younger ones
