ilia looks up at the captain, still clinging to her brother, and offers a shy smile. he seems nice, from what she can feel from him. the man’s sudden — and excellent — usage of basic throws eve for a loop. they had wondered earlier, when he’d said what they thought was ‘yes’, --

she looks at him, "oh- yes it is. it just means that i'm not particularly comfortable yet. everything is just kinda unusual and unfamiliar." kash shrugs, "i'm just not used to all this, and i'm not used to being the one who looks kooky."

she follows him, "as long as i can get what's necessary i can handle it." kash watches as people pass, offering polite smiles and nods. "i feel like a fish out of water."

she nods, standing. "what's happening?" her hands are folded right back and she watches people file out. "i'm assuming i may need to catch on to some of the language?"

kash nods, "i know all about the lack of trust amongst people in general." she looks back out, "the galaxy has never been very trusting, honestly."

kash nods, "i see." she watches the man next to her for a moment, then saying "thank you for trusting me enough to bring me along."

kash's eyes widened, "maker, i forgot how pretty this all was.." she folds her hands in her lap, watching as the galaxy went by them. "and you get to see this all the time, huh?"

kash's cheeks flushed. "i will make note of that.." she offered a smile and went back to watching the open space in front of them.

"it's not bothering you, is it?" she says, brows furrowing in concern. "i can stop if you would like. try to not let them slip.."

"yes, it means little one." she looks up at him, "mando'a." kash rests her chin on her knuckles. "it is usually a term of endearment."

kash nods to the girl, "good day, ad'ika." she smiles, "she is absolutely darling, solus."

kash leaned forward, smiling at the girl. "who's this, solus?" her eyes drifted back up to the man next to her, then right back to the girl.

kash looks at him, brows raised. "really? and who is that?" she crosses her legs and leans back into the chair, turning to watch the rest of the crew shuffle about.

they’re more than grateful to have been picked up by someone without ill intent, and willing to at least give them this. eve knows how to fight, but it’s difficult to do so when one is brought aboard unconscious. eve nods and glances down to ilia, says something in the --
