@FunkyDiabetic1 Penalties are great, until you are rooting for your team that completely outplays the other team and you lose in penalties. Then it's the worst fucking shit that was ever invented.

@charadelaperla @ConnCFC I meant technical talent. The game is democratic and a true team sport. If 10 men put it all on the line and play together and organized they can upset anyone. That's what makes the World Cup, the World Cup.

@A_ARoth @ConnCFC Mental atrength, focus, discipline, are all needed, keeping that intensity 120 min is a form of talent. They also did score the best goal of the game. Well deserved.

@nickbateman33 Nah, we just watched enough football to know one or two games means nothing. Teams like Paraguay can shit the bed, and teams like USA can look like world beaters. Doesn't make them contenders. Germany has been disappoining and hasn't won anything in over a decade.

USA brutally massacred the team that just eliminated a top 7/8 team in the entire World Cup AKA yes this US team can win it all. 100%. If you aren’t bought in yet it’s not too late.

Brazil struggling against Japan, Germany losing on penalties to Paraguay, the era of big countries dominating has come to an end man.

@AmericanOutlaws They are a good defensive team that had a terrible game against U.S.A. It happens. One game doesn't mean a whole lot. Win five elimination games in a row then jaw all you want.

Is Paraguay a decent team now or are they only scrubs when we beat them?

@barmallow1 @JosipFCB93 They were just overmatched physically and tactically. Honestly, I think it took everyone by surprise the way U.S.A came out. Paraguay was definitely not ready, and they are not a team that can play from behind well.

@AlexionIQ It would be unfair if Germany was actually good. But they were ass, couldn't do much against an inferior opponent that absolutely earned the tie and then the win in penalties. By literal description of the rule, that was a correct call. Cry all you want. Those are the rules.

No justice in football. Utterly disgraceful decision has knocked Germany out. A team that tried to play football...or a team that stuck 11 men behind the ball with 0 intention to attack. Tah's disallowed goal - just disgraceful officiating.

@kemimoo4 You literally have to cherry pick or make things up to put CR7 ahead of Messi. For Maradonna the conversation is complicated. For starters it was a completely different era, the game was played 10x more physically., and he was apure 10, his impact was not as easily quantifiable

@uvi_devil2003 @EiFSoccer Messi outperforms xGOT consistently by a big margin throughout his entire career. For any random player a short streak like this could be chalked down to luck, but for Messi this is pretty close to his career average overperformance. 20 straight years of doing this isn't luck.

@EiFSoccer Why would he stop playing when he can score 6 goals on 3.16 xGOT because the keepers and defense suddenly forget how to play.... As long as he gets these lucky variance in his favor he can continue to stat pad. Its funny how data plotting can make luck look like skill

At what point does Messi even stop playing? In tournament football he still continues to be the most decisive player in the world not named Mbappe. When will we actually see age fully affect how he plays? This is totally insane.

#FIFAWorldCup📊 Always #Messi After the group stage, the standout attacking profiles are not only finishers, but players who also create for others. High xA plus strong xG/goal threat shows who is involved in both the final pass and the final action. #ViniJR #Haaland #Albiceleste
