Fates, for all its failings as a story, still provides an incredibly fun cast with all the Nohrian characters, and so does Engage! So it’s a bit of a disservice to say a game ONLY needs gameplay, I think story can be bad but the characters generally always have to be good

I agree with the sentiment but it’s not 100% true. Fates and Engage both work in their own ways because of their characters at the very minimum, story being bad aside. No fire emblem game has story AND characters bad, if a game had both and good gameplay it would still suck ass

While it does suck for accessibility and more people being able to properly playing the game, choosing to not translate games in other languages because you can’t personally do it is funny as fuck
