YamAZk au is a way for me to explore grief which I think is a very compelling theme AND give AZ an opportunity to shine because despite the game quite literally being about him it feels like he and Floette barely get to actually do anything 😭

@ElysiumArena If he takes about her, imagine how urbaunie would have reacted 😭

@AgentC0rn06 Urbaunie too, to be mourning someone so important to them

@ElysiumArena He would 🥺 seeing it being helped out and accepted by team MZ would make him happy to see, too…

@AgentC0rn06 Seeing them interact would've gone craaaazzyyy 🥹 I think he would really sympathetize with Darkrai and it's situation

In my ideal world AZ's story would be about how selfishness and low selt esteem caused by immense self hatred can affect a person and those around them; causing pain even when they don't intense it because they see themselves and their existence as so insignificant

@ElysiumArena I didn’t expect to hear much on his brother (though maybe he could have brought him up indirectly when Naveen talks about his little sibling…) but I wanted to knowww more about his mom (and how he could relate to urbaunie) 😭 that and his love for painting and gardening too

@AgentC0rn06 Learning more about his past outside of his kingship, learning about his family (his mother and brother in particular), learning more about his personal feelings on things outside of his self hatred... 😭 Any of it would've been great to see 🥹

@ElysiumArena Yeahh 😭 awghhh if he had still been there, I feel like there would have been a neat dialogue… though he kinda said at some point during the game about reaching out to others crying out in sorrow. But djfjfjf

@AgentC0rn06 Mhm, darkrai being depicted as sympathetic and in need despite struggling with self hatred and being scared of hurting others.... It's very compelling but a sad contrast between them too. AZ could have had that too 🥹

@ElysiumArena No youre totally right. Loved his new animated backstory but I would have loved to know more about his encounters with others 😭 the protagonist (Lysandre got to mention them, but not him…)

@AgentC0rn06 And most of those flashbacks were things you would've already known if you played XY 😭💔 I was hoping they'd explore something New with him, but I feel like we got a lot of what we already have, if that makes sense And thank you, that means a lot to me... 🥹

@ElysiumArena Yeah. Like we got flashbacks of him but wish we got to see more cutscenes and moments of him doing or saying more- I don’t want to put down the offical media, but I will say that I rly like how your YamAZk au tackles those themes more in depth

@ElysiumArena And yeah I think the problem with az’s story is that the things he did are already said and/or his interactions with otehrs is past tense. So You don’t rly get to see him grow on-screen.

@AgentC0rn06 the telling us what happens and not showing us began taking a comical toll on me. i realized mid way it was just laziness by the creators. the sewer scene where ivor chops down the gate cutting to black 💀💀💀

love legends ZA but i feel the writing was the weakest point of the game. it suffers from a massive “i’m going to TELL you what these character dynamics are like & not show you” issue that seeps into the entire game. i think taunie & urbain had a good concept but got shafted

@no1gladionfan Also. Can I add the off-screen conversation between AZ and L, the one chance they actually have a proper dialogue with one another unlike in xy, they didn’t even show anything for that. 😭

@no1gladionfan Yeahhh I think you summed up my thoughts well - as much as I enjoyed ZA I feel like team MZ didnt get enough spotlight? Like you said, we don’t even get to really see the rivals’ relation with AZ either. It’s such a shame because urbaunie is an interesting tragic character
