@sci_questions Will be important to find out which antibody test was used, whether they looked for an increase in titre (had a sample from before exposure) and whether the test used has been validated in dogs etc.

@Alexandersens Twenty days after the return of the four-year-old Italian greyhound positive PCR test, "new samples were taken, including a serological test to find out if there had been an immune response directed against the virus".

@Alexandersens Growing up in India, tropical thunderstorms were quite normal. It still amazes me though.

We are currently investigating a suspected case of #FootandMouth disease in Norfolk. Movement restrictions and a 10km temporary control zone are in place on the farm. Preliminary testing does not indicate the presence of disease and further work is underway to fully rule it out.

We’ve integrated a huge new deep mutational scanning dataset from Yunlong Cao, Sunney Xie et al in visualizations that reveal how #SARSCoV2 RBD mutations affect antibodies, including antibodies that neutralize #Omicron or are from vaccinees previously infected by SARS-CoV-1 (1/n)

One of the happiest moment after meeting with my PhD main supervisor @Alexandersens after 3 months. Though the meeting was very short, I felt like I am at home with my guardian, now onward we will meet again and again 🥳🥰

Another open access paper from GCEID, this one on detection of diverse antimicrobial resistance genes; it has been a long time under way, well done Vanina taking it to the finish line 😎 frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

An increased ratio of SARS-CoV-2 positive to negative sense genomic and subgenomic RNAs within routine diagnostic upper respiratory tract swabs may be a marker of virion shedding medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

@K_G_Andersen @nytimes @ScienceMagazine @jbloom_lab I am with Jesse and the co-signatories on this one. Although the probability of a natural origin is high, the probability of a lab escape, albeit very low, cannot be formally/scientifically excluded before more data become available

@sci_questions Mainly related to vaccinations of humans; vaccines and vaccination of animals are also important and have provided significant advances over time.
