.@NASCAR scheduled a meeting with teams today to discuss a forthcoming executive change that will result in Steve O'Donnell being named CEO, Ben Kennedy being named COO and Jim France remaining on board as chairman, per sources. ➡️ France had been chair and CEO since 2018.

Statement from Patriots: “The New England Patriots fully support Mike Vrabel’s decision to prioritize his family first, as well as his own well-being. Mike has been open with us about his commitment to being the best version of himself for his family, this team and our fans, and we respect the steps he is taking to follow through on that commitment. “We are confident in the leadership and communication Mike has established with our personnel staff throughout this pre-draft process. While he will not be present at the facility on Saturday, we know the draft evaluations are complete and Eliot Wolf and his personnel staff are prepared to execute our draft as planned this weekend.”

Funny how an out-of-touch sports TV personality with a horrible take managed to unite the entire motorsports community. These athletes deserve way more respect than they're given for what they physically and mentally go through each race weekend.

@_TaylorKitchen_ You could not have said this any better! But it is important to remember that people come online to complain. A lot of poeple that are happy with the product and enjoy it are not going to comment unless something they don't like happens. Just trying to keep that in mind.

Perhaps a hot take, but I think the racing over the past few seasons has been solid and maybe fans are becoming less satisfied with the simplicity of the product? Perhaps that's the wrong word but though the racing had been solid and product consistent, the words "boring", "lame", and "uneventful" are getting thrown around way too often. The introduction of the Gen 7 car gave NASCAR fans something they hadn't seen in a while which was an array of different winners, smaller teams rising to the top in unexpected ways, and wild moments due to the parity the car provided... Now, the dust has settled and we're seeing the big teams rise to the top and the product become more consistent. That overall consistency vs the wild moments we were treated to with the introduction of the Gen 7 car, amongst other reasons IMO, has raised the bar for fan expectations each race weekend. Could the racing be better? Sure. Are there still areas of the Gen 7 car that could be improved? Absolutely. I’m not sitting on the edge of my seat every weekend in awe of the racing and I think that’s okay. In fact, it might even be a good thing, because it makes the truly wild moments feel that much more phenomenal. We measure what we consider good by knowing the bad. Reality is, even when the racing has been solid, it’s still leaving fans wanting more. But that is my opinion and perhaps, again, a hot take.

Am I missing something because this race has been good cars can pass and we’ve had some interesting pit cycles but according to Twitter dot com this is the worst race in the past 5 years

I just don’t understand how some people prefer these chaotic finishes over a pure, natural ending. Cody Ware ruined an amazing battle with his spin while running in last place. Denny Hamlin earned that one. It doesn’t feel right after going green 99% of the day.

@dailydownforce I mean its a straight up race where the best cars and drivers are performing. Not every race is going to be extremely exciting, although we will get those wild races at some point. It is important to enjoy the display of these also. That is my take on today and the past few weeks

Thoughts on this race so far? My (unpopular, maybe) opinion is the races on intermediate tracks have become quite.. underwhelming

@ZingBatt Not really sure if that is a bad thing. Best drivers and cars pulling away is interesting. Bigger gaps typically means passing is more common, rather than stalling out from the front cars wake. At least that's my opinion.

Stage cautions really need to go now more than ever! Hopefully that is a change coming soon. #NASCAR

@AustinKonenski I agree. I think if there were not stage cautions it could have been more interesting. Like instead of a 40 to 50 lap tire run you get a run of 60 to 70 laps.

I think Kansas has been enjoyable. It’s not hard to pass. The field is spread out and you can tell who is fastest/slowest on long runs. These races don’t always need dramatics to be successful.

@IceTitan80 Hopefully if they get the on-track product to be good, we can create star drivers and have a revamp similar to other sports. MLB and PGA come to mind. The racing that allows the best drivers to run up front and win more is a good thing, even if it isn't a "exciting race" IMO.

Opinions on NASCAR (William Richard)
Nearly 14,000,000 people watched golf on Sunday (average viewership). Not even 2,000,000 watched the Cup race. Talk about rough times. And don't tell me there can't be a market for viewers. We gotta get the sport back right. Steps are at least happening.

@Will_RCR_8 65 to 77 lead changes is what the Gen7 has produced - that’s FAR SUPERIOR racing. Get out of low downforce and high horsepower; go instead with the Daytona Atlanta Talladega spoiler spacer combination, period.

@AustinKonenski I got an idea. What if you can only do fuel or tires on any given stop? No tires under yellow! And what if we had a timer, say...oh, 20 minutes and then there's a caution?! Oh, and maybe we could divide the field into even/odd and determine their pit lap and restart row with it!
