Xavier Becerra won zero endorsements from environmental groups. Big Oil liked him though. PG&E was also desperate to make sure Tom Steyer didn't win.

If Liberals want everyone to get in line behind Becerra, then Becerra needs to EARN those votes.
I do not owe some Corporate owned stooge with a history of shit decision making my vote, when he has consistently made it clear he defends the Corporate Class and is anti-worker

@jakefromgeorgia Sorry I don't like that Becerra was a flip flopper who changed his positions because he was bought out by every big corporation, and has no concrete plans on anything, I had my reservations about Steyer being a billionaire but I was able to look past it because of his platform.

@nightlight7001 Don't get me wrong, I'll begrudgingly vote for Becerra no questions asked IF he actually needs it, but he doesn't, this is California, no republican is going to come close to winning. if the race is actually close I'll hold my nose and vote for him

@Jhin345 I live near San Jose, I was never voting for Mahan. He lies about his record constantly and is just a ladder climber who has never finished a full term of anything and takes credit for things he didn't do.

I'm genuinely curious what Becerra is going to do to "earn support" but given that he said "regardless of party affiliation," I don't have high hopes

NEW: @XavierBecerra (D-CA) released the following statement after the AP projected Republican @SteveHiltonx (R-CA) will advance to the November general election in California's governor's race. Becerra: "More than four million voters chose a different path than the one Steve Hilton and Donald Trump are offering. That's the mandate I'll carry into November." He added: "This November, voters will choose between a governor who will fight for California's future and one who would hand Sacramento to Donald Trump." Becerra also said he wants to "earn the support" of Californians regardless of party affiliation.

@lmaozero0 i'll vote for becerra if he needs my vote to win in the event the race is actually competitive otherwise he absolutely has not earned my vote. And for the record I vote in every election, but I will leave certain races blank if the dem is going to win but hasnt earned my vote

I understand why he endorsed Becerra, but in all likelihood Iโll be leaving this race blank in November. California needs change, not another do-nothing corporate Democrat.
