I had been aware of crypto for a number of years, having been introduced to the darkweb in '12 by an exmilitary frien I was in business college with. I had dabbled and devved and earned some income. I had never really considered it my lifecalling until one fine afternoon watching House on TV. House was treating a patient and his father decided to destroy his business in a spiritual bid to get his kid well. It worked. House said something akin to 'and it didn't stop me from taking out a $10 000 short on the company.' Me, being an idiot, had no idea you could bet on the downside potential of stonks. I looked into it - 1. stonks close every day?? 2. and every weekend 3. and holidays 4. the minimum required to play is silly - not even just in min capital requirements, but flat fees of $10 + variable fees of a %? Fuck off, I'm not made of money Enter crypto and specifically Quadrigacx and Poloniex and a new dawn broke into my life and my heart. Fast forward, and there's still no good permissionless method for shorting anything I want - it needs to be vetted, gated, n I gotta wait for something to be listed somewhere I can short it.
