yeah this is what I noticed too
WuWa rewards exploration by expanding the player's knowledge of the world or the characters
e.g. Chisa and the "Piano" is a callback to the NPCs conversation that the player overhears
it adds no immediate value aside from knowing Chisa's state

By "play," they mean exploring the open world, talking to NPCs to find clues about certain characters, and paying attention to dialogues, events, side quests, exploration, and everything the game offers For example, take Sigrika. You can learn about her in version 3.0 by going to Bjartr Woods. You can also find clues about Roya Frostlands and Exoswarms by talking to NPCs in the area. This is what "playing" the game means Instead of just focusing on the main story, Kuro wants players to understand the world by paying attention to the environment and the details they've created

a biased thing, but I really like her companion quest, it’s divided between about herself and how she does as the president and professor in the academy. I think people who are still studying would like her quest, she’s a comforting and heartwarming professor who understands student’s struggles and manage to guide them in right path.
