@TPEassist why does the 17.44 from Manchester Airport to Scarborough need a 16 min stop in Leeds? It is slow enough because of the diversion through Wakefield without this long scheduled stop. Nearly two and a half hours to York is ridiculous.

@TPEassist Thanks for the reply. It is still a very poor service for those going home from the airport after a long day travelling. Only 1 train an hour now through to York which used to be more frequent

..and even after such a long stop it was nearly 2 minutes late leaving! No wonder people choose to drive!

Is it really ten years ago today? Time flies when you're having fun. Probably my favourite day covering FC Halifax Town. Can still remember the feeling of awe getting to my seat at Wembley for the first time and looking round the place. Just a brilliant day.

@YorkCityFC I remember when my team Halifax Town were playing Rochdale back in the 1970s in one of the last games of the season with both teams chasing promotion from the 4th division. No tickets needed, no separation of supporters. 17000 at The Shay. Those were the days! Both teams went up.

Just heard from a taxi driver how @JeremyVineOn5 cycled up to his cab at a traffic light and filmed him with his camera and then reported him to police. Taxi driver got a 6 points and a 500 pound fine. What a nasty thing to do -taxi wasn’t moving and as soon as it moved he would have stopped talking Vine should start reporting cyclists rushing through red lights if he wants to play tell tale
