@FCHTOnline @Dag_RedFC Really disappointing, there will be loads of junior football matches going ahead this week following the thaw. Missing my games down the Shay!

@FCHTOnline £12…. Another game on the pitch as the weather turns poor. Eastleigh had the right idea here - this is likely to hinder our league and cup schedule. East stand only tells you all you need to know about the likely interest.

Due to my (previous) work commitments, hubby's old weekend shifts, cancer, campaigning, son's sports etc etc, it has taken me 8 years (😱) to reach my 1st @parkrunUK milestone - 25th today at the wonderful @Maidstonepkrun, where it all began 🥰 Now I'm aiming for 50 before 50...

𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐃𝐀𝐘!! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Some info for fans attending the game this evening. 🚆𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 Match ticket holders are entitled to free regional travel from 6am today until 6pm tomorrow. This can be used in the VRR and VRS regions only. 🚇🚶𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 Fans can use tram U78 to Sportpark Nord/Europaplatz from Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof or Heinrich-Heine-Allee. Whilst trams are expected to run every 3-5 minutes, it is possible that some trams will arrive at Heinrich-Heine-Allee already busy/full from the main station. So please allow enough time. There is a shuttle bus from Heinrich-Heine-Allee, however this will drop you at the south side of the stadium, so you could face a long walk to the north side of the stadium, where the official England section is. Weather dependent, you could walk or take an e-scooter along the river (it is illegal to ride the scooters under the influence of alcohol). Walking will take around 75 mins. Switzerland fans are based in the south of the stadium and have a fan meeting point along the river. They plan to walk to the stadium around 2:30pm in their thousands. There are also some shuttles to the stadium from the airport and the airport station. Once again, leave enough time to get to the stadium and have some patience. 🏟️𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦 The stadium will open at 15:00 and there are no alcohol restrictions. It has been reported that fans in the upper tier have faced some long queues at the concession stands. If drinking in the stands, remember you pay a €3 deposit for the cups, please do not chuck them! It doesn’t do us any favours, and only impacts the people they land on. Unfortunately this has caused some injuries. Return them to the kiosks after the game to get your money back. The stadium will remain open for a while if you wanted to stay and have a drink. The 9pm game will not be shown. 🚃𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 Fans can use tram U78 back to the city centre from the Merkur-Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord station, which is located at the south of the stadium. This is not the same station as the one you will be dropped off at. There are no shuttle buses back to the city centre, so you could walk, or use shuttle buses to the airport and take a short train back to the city from there. Anyone that takes U78 from the stadium can expect it to take around an hour to clear. 📱🎟️𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬 Any fans with ticketing issues can visit the ticket resolution centres at the stadium, they open seven hours before KO. There are three centres in total at the stadium. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐬 Remember that flags bigger than 2x1.5m should have a fire label/fire certificate. 🎒𝐁𝐚𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 There is free bag storage in the city at Grabbeplatz. This will open at midday until 1am. 📺𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬 If you have been unable to obtain a ticket, you can watch the game at the multiple bars around the city, as well as at fan zones Burgplatz, Schauspielhaus, and the public viewing area on the river front. 📍ℹ️𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐬’ 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐲 The Fans’ Embassy will be located at Schadowplatz from 10:00-15:30. Our volunteers will also be around the city should you need any assistance. Issue 189 of the Free Lions is available to collect. 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐎𝐍 𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃!!! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Just to clarify, shuttle services are ready to operate from Heinrich-König-Platz to the stadium, but only if necessary. Tram is still the first option. We’d advise ticket holders to avoid Nordsternpark since it only opens at 4pm. Non-ticket holders can use it to watch the game. Free bag storage will be available again near the main station.

⚽️𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐚 🏟️𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐮𝐟𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞, 𝐆𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧 🗓️𝟑𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞, 𝟏𝟖:𝟎𝟎 𝐊𝐎 Back to Gelsenkirchen for the Round of 16, below is a list of key items of information if you are making the trip. 𝐅𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 For this game, the Gelsenkirchen Racecourse will not be in use. Instead fans are encouraged to use Heinrich-König-Platz pre-match, and for fans without tickets, you’ll have use of the fan zone at Nordsternpark to watch the game. There are NO alcohol restrictions in the city centre, and beer will be sold at Heinrich-König-Platz from a number of stalls. There are a few bars around the city that can be used. We have some recommendations in our Free Lions, which you can download here: thefsa.org.uk/news/free-lion… Whilst England fans will mostly gather in Heinrich-König-Platz, there is also the town of Buer which is north of the stadium and can be accessed via Tram 302 from Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof. You can use the same line to return to the stadium. 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐟𝐚𝐧 𝐳𝐨𝐧𝐞 The fan zone and public viewing areas will open at 4pm for fans wanting to watch the games there. We will confirm if any transport will run from the stadium after the game back to Nordsternpark to watch the 9pm game. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 Travel is free for ticket holders on regional trains within the VRR and VRS regions from 6am on matchday until 6pm on Monday 1st July. For fans who gather near Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof or Heinrich-König-Platz, Tram 302 will be available to take you to the stadium. We have been told there will be enough trams available this time around, as well as a shuttle bus service from Heinrich-König-Platz on top of the tram service. They will still be busy. For fans who want to go to Nordsternpark to watch the game, there will be a shuttle bus from Platform 1 at the bus station next to Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof; a shuttle service will also run to the stadium from here. Upon arrival into Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof, our Fans’ Embassy team, as well as EURO 2024 volunteers will be on hand with key information about travel for both before and after the game. For fans travelling from Essen, we have been told Tram 107 will run directly to the stadium, we will confirm the situation for after the game ASAP. Walking to the stadium takes around 90 mins. 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 Fans will have the option of taking the tram back to the city centre, as was the case last time. There will also be shuttle buses to Gelsenkirchen Hauptbahnhof from car park P6 at the stadium. We still expect these to be extremely busy, and will communicate if/how long the stadium will be open for after, which may be a good option to allow crowds to die down. 𝐀𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦 We are pleased to say that after some lobbying, normal strength beer will be sold, however the sale of alcohol will again be limited to two beers per purchase and there will be NO drinking of alcohol permitted in the stands. Whilst we are happy with the return of normal strength beer, we are disappointed to see restrictions in place limiting the amount of beer you can buy, as well as the ban on drinking in the stands. Both added unnecessary pressure on the concourses last time. We don’t see any justification for these measures. 𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐬’ 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐲 The Fans’ Embassy will be up and running on Saturday 29th June from 12:00-16:00 in Gelsenkirchen, we will also have a mobile presence in Dusseldorf. On Sunday 30th June, we will be in Gelsenkirchen from 10:00-16:00. We will be based outside of the main station in Gelsenkirchen at Bahnhofsvorplatz. Free Lions 188 will be available to collect. ESTC staff will join us for a couple of hours on matchday. 𝐅𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 We will have updates on multiple aspects before Sunday on our social media channels, there will also be updates The FA. Use the UEFA EURO 2024 App for more info on Gelsenkirchen.

𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐚 𝐯 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 - 𝟑𝟔-𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬 England fans who have obtained match tickets for this fixture are entitled to free travel from 6am on Sunday 16th June until 6pm on Monday 17th June. Free travel can be used on all 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕 (you cannot use IC/ICE/EC trains) within the VRR and VRS regions. Below are maps of the two networks which show if you can travel for free. If you are travelling from outside these networks, you will need to buy a ticket to the network area. Fans should by now have access to their Fan Pass on the UEFA EURO 2024 app, which acts as your ticket when travelling. If you don’t have a match ticket, you will need to purchase a ticket to travel.
