One of the most relaxing moments I’ve had as a parent is happening right now.
In a Lyft catching up on text messages. Without anyone asking for anything. In complete silence. Occasionally gazing out the window as the sun peaks out behind the clouds.
Truly amazing.

I just made a huge purchase for my home by myself for the first time while my husband, who is on hospice, sleeps peacefully. To be fair I did show it to him and he said he liked it.
I like to think of it as a reward to myself for the years of caregiving.
