Best port of the game. Local computer shop in 99-2000 made custom arcade-style panels (long before fighsticks) and it elevated the experience.

I started out reading the X-Men in the 1960s. They still had Beast, Angel, and Iceman on the team. No Wolverine. Professor X was their teacher at their school for gifted youngsters. There was never a hint of humans being racist - or if there was it was subtle enough that my 10 year old brain didn't pick up on it. And I was no dummy. Heck I read Moby Dick age 11. Magneto was bad because he wanted mutants to rule humans. Professor X was good because he wanted mutants to protect humans. I find exceedingly dull the whole mutants vs. human thing in which Marvel today has basically made the X-Men into traitors to their kind because somehow mutants are a "race" instead of a random assortment of folks from every race who somehow got special powers. Yeah it was cool for a while when the eeevil US Government made the Sentinels to oppress the X-Men but even then it was more about them being misunderstood than "racism". By that time Magneto was trying to make it all about racism though, which was seen as a bad thing. Now they're practically whitewashing Magneto because their new invented racism is the single worst crime anyone can commit. Worse than murder. Apparently worse than trying to wipe out the entirety of non-mutants - or at least comparable. I hate that the X-Men are one-trick ponies now. Or I would hate it, if I could be enticed to start paying attention to them. But they've lost me as have so many franchises.
