So Mehdi — here’s what we have learned tonight from your non-denials:
1. You and Shadi have both benefited from Qatari largesse over the years — from an Islamist state that hosts terrorists with American blood on their hands, exploits slave labor, and launders influence through elites and elite institutions.
2. You are an Islamist and one of the most reliable amplifiers of Muslim Brotherhood messaging in Western discourse. The U.S. has designated Muslim Brotherhood branches as terrorist entries with bipartisan legislation introduced to codify that in statute.
3. You can attack but you can’t do basic research: we’ve written extensively at FDD on Qatari influence operations, including criticism of President Trump for the absurd idea of accepting a free plane from Doha.
4. Shadi seems perfectly comfortable attacking me, then outsourcing the follow-up to you. He should consider a better surrogate to conduct those attacks — especially one who isn’t so compromised.

They told Imam Khamenei hours before his martyrdom that it was extremely dangerous for him to remain at home, as there was a high probability of an attack that day.
Imam Khamenei replied: "My people do not have shelters, so I will not enter any shelter. I will stay in my home like everyone else."

Iranians of all political beliefs are giving Congressman Randy Fine a hard time about his post because the name of our nation is Iran.
“Persia” is an old exonym — popularized by the Greeks.
In 1935, Reza Shah formally asked foreign governments to stop using “Persia” and to use “Iran,” which is what Iranians had always called our nation.
From Senator Markwayne Mullin not knowing that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic is different from the one in 1979 to simple mistakes (or not) like this by Randy Fine, these are errors even a diplomat in their first week at the Foreign Service Institute wouldn’t make.
Yet these men are helping to make decisions that will have an enormous impact on the lives of Iranians, and they don’t even know the basics.
