I have been saying that I don’t think AP or anyone in that building is thinking about Aiyuk for this year. They signed Van Jefferson as like the last depth piece and that signaled to me they knew this was going south. He will eventually get released and they will pick him up and stash him on a list and ramp him up for next year.

If you believe that, then why do you (AP) want him? They know everything they need to know about the player. There are no real unknowns for them from the organization, to the QB, to the agent (strong relationship), and everyone involved. The unknowns are for the general public. The people making the decision already have all the information. The malpractice is knowing you want said player and trying to wait out until September when you can get them now.

Adam Peters is really to blame for a lot of the Aiyuk situation this year. He could easily part with a late-round pick with conditions that escalate from a 7th-rounder to a 5th-rounder. Just get the deal done and get the guy in the building. It wouldn’t even be a story anymore. Prolonging the inevitable for what to get him August 30th then he’s suppose to jump into action against the Eagles?
