@_Jyggalag_ Would the aspect warriors have been established by that point, or would this have been whatever pre-Path serial killers the craftworlds employed while Asurmen was spreading his teachings? I was never particularly clear on the timeline there

I'm NGL the excuse that the Imperium (at first) couldn't tell the difference between the Dark Eldar and the Asuryani has never been particularly convincing to me cause beyond some vague similarities they don't look similar enough. I guess maybe how they fight and move is close?

@basedbinkie A downstream problem of trying to make elves equal to humans for dnd (and similar), rather than in like tolkien where a thousand year old elf lord does just mog a human in most given circumstances

Something I noticed in fantasy Elves: "I have spent a thousand years learning magic, behold the power of my fireball" Humans: "I picked up this book and read it for like a few days and now I can cast big fireballs!" Are elves stupid??

@_Jyggalag_ Does fantasy have anything that could challenge a lore-acurrate Thu’um master like Tiber?

- Septim's army that he used against the Altmer included the Numidium, and there's absolutely no way the High Elves could deal with the Numidium.

I've pondered TES vs Warhammer Fantasy armies a lot recently and I've realized that TES on average has weaker armies but the higher end powers in TES are so far beyond anything Warhammer has ever had to offer. For instance the Asur vs the Altmer is a decisive Asur win but Tiber -

@shas_kais If these were regular corsairs I kinda get it? They don’t have anything like aspect warriors that pushes them to astartes level, do they?

Sup guys. Imma gonna give a quick review of "The Maelstrom: Lair of the Tyrant". First of all, it's not really a campaign story book, the same as "500 Worlds: Titus". It should be seen as a lore sourcebook. The book features almost SEVENTY pages of world-building. An exhaustive lore dump about the Maelstrom and its nature, history, and landmarks, lore about the factions operating there, etc. It's the ultimate lore guide for any TT and RPG players who want to set their games in the Maelstrom. The battle between Yriel and Huron is just four pages long at the end of the book. It was low stakes and didn't build toward anything. Here is a brief summary of an already brief story: -While searching for the Aeldari superweapons in the Maelstrom, Yriel learned that the Red Corsairs had ambushed and plundered a fleet belonging to Craftworld Alaitoc. They were taking the captives and stolen Aeldari treasures to one of the Red Corsairs' void stations, named the Crimson Eyrie. -Yriel split his fleet into two. Half of the fleet would bait and draw the Red Corsair fleet away, while Yriel would lead the other half to attack the vulnerable station. -There was one complication that Yriel didn't account for: Huron, who had recently returned from a raid, was anchoring his temporary capital ship in the Crimson Eyrie. -Yriel's gambit worked. Huron led the Red Corsair fleet on a chase of half of Yriel's fleet. Meanwhile, Yriel's capital ship and its escort dragonship attacked the Crimson Eyrie. -Yriel and his forces attacked the station with blazing speed and reckless aggression, silencing its defense batteries and slaughtering its armsmen. Yriel and his Voidscarred managed to free dozens of Alaitoc Asuryani captives, reclaim troves of Aeldari treasures, and rescue sacks bloated full of Aeldari spiritstones. -Yriel's assault faltered when a handful of Red Corsair marines entered the fray. The Aeldari Corsairs were no match for the heretic Marines. Yriel was able to match the transhuman warriors, but his warriors and bodyguard were being cut down around him. Yriel sounded a fighting retreat, prompting the Aeldari to escape the station with all that they rescued. -Huron and his fleet inflicted terrible damage on the distraction Aeldari fleet, but he realised to his rage that he was outmanoeuvred. The Crimson Eyrie burned. However, it was not too late to secure victory. Huron turned back and led his fleet to the station. -Yriel made it aboard his capital ship. The Aeldari fleet began to withdraw. However, his escort dragonship was too slow. Huron and his fleet surrounded the dragonship. Crippling it with broadside fire, chaining it, and sending in waves of boarding torpedoes. -The Red Corsair marines tore their way through the dragonship, but their attempts at taking the bridge were repeatedly repulsed. -Huron decided to finish it personally. He had his sorcerers teleport him through the Warp onto the Dragonship's bridge. -A lesser warrior would have been torn apart by the tides of the Warp; Huron, however, emerged unscathed. The sudden flare of his Warp translation scotched the minds and souls of the Voidscarred caught in his wake. -Huron was unstoppable. The Aeldari Corsairs fought well, but they were no match for the Tyrant. The last to die was the dragonship's baron. Huron grabbed him with his claws and immolated him in front of his Red Corsairs. -Huron inflicted heavy losses on the Aeldari and exacted a measure of vengeance, but he wasn't satisfied. Yriel had embarrassed him in his own domain. Sooner or later, he vowed, he would hunt down Yriel and then the Aeldari would know true suffering. -Yriel's raid was successful, but he felt little cheer for his victory. The loss of the dragonship was an unexpected price to pay. He hoped that it was worth it.

This is a pretty deep meme, it could be the definition of IYKYK. The king in yellow, pandemonium and the reason the book has been delayed despite it being finished for years now will rock the IP harder than Gathering Storm.

I like how GRRM takes pains to establish that dragons are literally nigh-invulnerable weapons of mass destruction, but when a bunch of small folk manage to take down two large adults, no one questions F&B's account of "I guess they just swarmed them like rats".

Fizzarolli being in his early 40s and Asmodeus being of hundreds of years old yet they're acting like this. What's even weirder is the one who's being talked to like a child is the lower class demon

Like Fizz, a grown ass man, baby talking and asking his bf to go into the city without bodyguards is straight up some y/n x CEO behavior.. I generally don’t like calling things “cringe” bc it’s an empty, mostly meaningless criticism but this just gives me the ick to watch sorry
