Bodycam footage has been released of Miami deputies serving a warrant for Cristian Barata (25) who was suspected of distributing child pornography. As the cops breached the door, women and children came out and Cristian's brother, Christopher (21), came out of his room with a Sig Sauer P365XL wearing a Streamlight TLR-7 HL-X & a Vortex Defender red dot optic at the low ready position. Police opened fire on Christopher, killing him. Both brothers were TSA agents. FDLE is investigating the shooting incident which certainly isn't a black and white use of force like we normally see. Christopher doesn't appear to raise his firearm before being shot and being armed in your house isn't a crime; especially in south Florida where criminals have a long history of breaking into homes whilst announcing "police or policia!!!" @ctdonath I agree the bigger conversation should be the raid in the first place. Take the guy at work where you know he isn't expecting it and won't have weapons.

I’m reading the comments, and while “he” may get mixed up a bit by some it doesn’t objectively matter. Most are contending that without the raid nobody would have gotten shot (regardless of whether the one shot was the suspect or not). It was a good shoot, and I’m withholding opinion on whether raid was appropriate until further details.

The person shot was carrying a gun at low ready when fully aware police were entering. This has nothing to do with “accused”. He had ample time to submit, to drop the gun, to appear unarmed, to put his hands on his head as ordered. I’m rabidly pro-gun. When a heavily armed team invades your home, you either fully comply immediately, or fight back with immediate decisive force. He didn’t. He stood there, presenting a threat.
