@KoreArgento_Al Mind you I saw this movie when I was 12yrs old. I had no prior knowledge of the story or games, but I definitely saw Aerith as someone very important & prominent every time she spoke or appeared. Final scene when he sees her at the door still gives me goosebumps to this day!

@KoreArgento_Al They definitely watched that movie with their eyes closed like the rest of the RE series lol Tifa has 2 fight scenes and Cloud is miserable halfway until Aerith speaks to him & she continues to aid in the final scenes & ending. If anything AC is CA coded lol

I don't understand what the problem is with the remake series not ending in AC and having a new ending. I like AC, but I'm open to other possibilities. Furthermore, I don't understand why the Clothi fans are the most opposed to the ending not leading into AC, when they, especially, could have a better future if it doesn't end in AC. All their wet dreams could come true if they avoid the AC ending. A new ending could open the possibility that Cloud and Tifa will finally be a couple, get married, have children, and be happy, etc. That would be a completely different ending from what happens in AC. A new ending could also benefit them. So what are they afraid of? Is it that deep down they know that will never happen, so they cling to the smallest possibility they have of Cloud and Tifa staying together, which is within a family of friends, which is what AC shows? Are they content with these crumbs because they have no expectations or hope for anything more? They know that a new ending doesn't necessarily mean Aerith survives, but simply that events change in a way that's completely different from AC. Even if Aerith survives, that doesn't automatically mean she'll end up with Cloud and they'll become a couple. For example, if Cloud and Tifa got married at the end of Revelation, that would already make the ending new and wouldn't lead into AC, because that's not part of AC's story. So why are they clinging so tightly to a future that shows absolutely nothing romantic between Cloud and Tifa? They could have real confirmation and a better future, but they don't want it, and perhaps that's because then they'd have to admit that AC isn't a good ending for Cloud and Tifa's relationship. And I'm very sure that if Revelation somehow has a new ending that doesn't lead into AC at all, that doesn't canonize it for the Remake series, but has an ending with Cloud and Tifa together, they'll immediately stop claiming it had to end in AC, they'll stop caring that it didn't end there, and they'll say that they never minded it being a different ending. They'll call it the best ending in the universe, and AC will be completely erased from their minds.

Zack telling Cloud to save Aerith because Cloud has to get better to save her. Don’t make sense if Cloud saves her only for Zack to “claim her” that’s not hero-like nor his character

This misconception that Tifa is the only one who knew "the real Cloud" and was responsible for "piecing his mind together" in the LS needs to finally be cleared up in Part 3, and I truly think it will. Tifa doesn't have the knowledge to help Cloud find his missing pieces. She doesn't even know what is missing in the first place. What she is trying to do is provide him with proof that he is not a Sephiroth copy so he can snap out of the catatonic, broken state he is in, and being the only one who met him before joining Shinra, there's no one else who can do that. Tifa's role there is to be the sole living witness of Cloud's existence as his own person. But other than that, she is learning about Cloud's past self as much as we are as players. She didn't know about his loneliness growing up, about how left out and inadequate he felt, and how he was always longing for attention and connection, that acting cocky was a way to shield himself from rejection. She doesn't know why he wanted to join SOLDIER so bad, that he was desperately trying to be special, to feel seen. Cloud is the one to show her the truths hidden in his lost memories, everything she wasn't aware of and us as players weren't either. How could she help him see what she never saw herself? She doesn't. It's all him, and she says so herself. Retrilogy is doing a far better job showing this, with Cloud remembering things on his own and telling Tifa he never enjoyed being alone. They acknowledge verbally, TO EACH OTHER, they were never close and never knew each other well. And this is VERY relevant to understanding what the LS sequence is about. It wasn't retconned, and it's not a Remake change, it's always been the story.

The developers were so cunning hiding those details in small interactions. Akira Got to walk on - I'm sure we'll meet again someday, I'm shooting for the stars, but they feel so far away, out of reach even now but still I know I gotta give my all day after day. Tifa fans claim that Tifa understands and brings out the “real Cloud” when in reality it’s the total opposite. Square Enix put this scene in the game for a reason and it wasn’t to favor that line of thinking.
