This wasn’t hidden. It wasn’t subtle. It was written down in their own declarations. The Civil War never ended. And many of these same states later: • created Black Codes • enforced Jim Crow • fought school integration • resisted the Voting Rights Act • used terror, media, politics, and violence to suppress Black political power History leaves patterns. That’s why studying history matters — because some of the same states still struggle with the same racial tensions and political battles today. Read the documents for yourself.
