People keep trying to rewrite history, but the documents are public. The Confederacy officially consisted of 11 states that seceded from the Union: โ€ข South Carolina โ€ข Mississippi โ€ข Florida โ€ข Alabama โ€ข Georgia โ€ข Louisiana โ€ข Texas โ€ข Virginia โ€ข Arkansas โ€ข North Carolina โ€ข Tennessee The Confederacy also CLAIMED Kentucky and Missouri. West Virginia broke away from Virginia during the Civil War because many people in the western counties opposed Virginiaโ€™s decision to secede from the Union in 1861. And letโ€™s be very clear: many of these states plainly stated WHY they were leaving the Union. Mississippi said: โ€œOur position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery...โ€ Texas defended โ€œthe servitude of the African race.โ€ Georgia, South Carolina, and others complained about abolitionists, Black freedom, and threats to slavery. This wasnโ€™t hidden. It wasnโ€™t subtle. It was written down in their own declarations. The Civil War never ended. And many of these same states later: โ€ข created Black Codes โ€ข enforced Jim Crow โ€ข fought school integration โ€ข resisted the Voting Rights Act โ€ข used terror, media, politics, and violence to suppress Black political power History leaves patterns. Thatโ€™s why studying history matters โ€” because some of the same states still struggle with the same racial tensions and political battles today. Read the documents for yourself. Donโ€™t let people sanitize history to make themselves comfortable. CarthanEnterprises.com

Paid review accusations for Mixtape are cope. โ€œFond summer memories of the 80s/90s, punk rock, VHS, youth rebellion, but everyoneโ€™s a skinny alt kid who talks like itโ€™s the 2010sโ€ is Wakanda for that specific younger GenX/older millennial cohort which all game reviewers fall into

Every time I visit Seattle my grandparents will call me and be like "we heard there are violent riots and fires in the city be careful call us later" while I'm on a leisurely stroll and there isn't anything going on around me
george@idobadtakes

If you donโ€™t know any conservatives you might think this is a figure of speech But no, my grandparents actually do think that every major city in the US burned to the ground and had vast swaths of no-go zones

Response to this article has been telling. Thereโ€™s now established precedent for GOP packing their courts, defying their own state constitutions and cancelling elections to achieve redistricting aims and itโ€™s sort of covered like clever electoral strategy. Democrats merely suggest doing the same in VA and a lot of the commentary is like โ€œsilly Dems why are you being so hysterical, that would be stupid and unpopular. GOP just gets to cheat, deal with itโ€ It is this way on countless issues.
Judicial Hub@judicialhub

NEWS: According to the New York Times, some Democrats are proposing a plan to overturn the stateโ€™s Supreme Court ruling that invalidated the referendum: 1) Invoke the circuit court ruling that invalidated the referendum due to county officials not posting notice of it at courthouses 3 months before the election to invalidate the 2020 constitutional amendment that created the independent redistricting commission by arguing that the courthouses also did not post notice of it at the time either. 2) Lower the mandatory retirement age for justices from 75 to 54 (or less). That would remove every justice on the court. The Democratic majority in the legislature can then appoint 7 new justices. 3) Democrats would then be able to redraw the map. nytimes.com/2026/05/10/us/โ€ฆ
