1/3 Well we did it! @BATCH_trial We opened first site @AHFTResearch 11/6/18,  and recruited our final and 1942 nd pt today at @UHSFT. 5 Secretaries of State for Health , 3 Prime Ministers, Brexit, and a pandemic,  but we still managed to reach target! Well done everyone!

@Dr_JoanneEuden @CarrolEnitan @Pronto_Trial @PEACH_Study1 I submitted a spirit checklist for BATCH but it still went to peer-review.

@CarrolEnitan Am hoping that by submitting a SPIRIT checklist alongside the @Pronto_Trial (and @PEACH_Study1) protocols we can bypass peer review and get it published quickly and easily 😬 would be good to hear experience of this!

1/2 Publishing a protocol paper is important in interests of transparency,  preventing selective reporting, and duplication of research. If it is funded by major funder, e.g. @NIHRresearch, it will have been peer reviewed by experts in the field, and discussed at a funding panel.
