God's character is one of many equal and important attributes that work together, making him our Heavenly Father.

His promises are sure. And through his covenants, he provides the only path that righteous men and women can follow to reach their highest potentials.

"It’s his work, his gospel, his scriptures, and it’s a privilege for us to be a small part in that."

Our destiny in this dispensation, as it was for the Nephites and Jaredites, will be determined by our willingness to heed the counsel of the living prophets.

Though we may engage with scripture for different purposes, be motivated by different goals, and value the journey for different reasons, ultimately we all share the common goal of seeking to know God better.

Heeding the light of Christ can guide us not only back to our Heavenly Parents but also to eternal life.

To become exalted beings, we must undergo a journey that begins with the cleansing and purifying experience of obtaining an initial remission of sins through faith, repentance, and baptism.

Through the stories in the scriptures of conversion we learn that although repentance can be painful, even those who have sinned deeply can become tools in the Lord’s hands to bless others’ lives, if they will repent.

Through righteous participation in ordinances, we may build upon the rock of Christ that becomes our foundation.

Developing a source of spiritual strength within our own hearts and souls will lead us to meet with compassion the spiritual and temporal needs of those around us.

We can trust him completely, relying on his wisdom, his love, and his power to help us.

Though we may be experiencing isolation and loneliness, we are not cut off—thanks to the covenants made possible through the Atonement of Christ.

In our darkest moments, we can find solace and reason to rejoice in the memory that we are engraven in the palms of his hands!

We can make righteous judgments that will bless rather than condemn us. We can be using the precious gift of agency in the way God designed.

When receiving is the initial method for engaging scripture, it significantly changes the reading process as the book is transformed to a holy writ.
