HOT FUZZ was released 19 years ago today. The woman in the forensics suit who breaks up with Angel at the opening crime scene? That’s Cate Blanchett, fully hidden under the mask. She asked to be in the film because she loved Shaun of the Dead so much.

@LeighQuilter @gabeat__ To "restore", then, would mean to keep the stump and nurture it to grow back. To put a new one in would be to "replace" it. That's the opposite of Restore's manifesto.

I get that, and I sympathise with this view. But even if it does grow again it'll probably be a weird lopsided growth. We could then wait 200 years, only to realise we should have just found a replacement. Replacing it would be a powerful symbol of restoration, and it gives us a full tree right away.

Restore Britain should pledge to restore Sycamore Gap. The French restored Notre Dame in record time. I'm sure we could find a suitably tall and similarly shaped sycamore tree and transplant it where the old one once stood. Even if we had to airlift it into place by Chinook. We should make it a great patriotic endeavour. It would lift the spirits of the whole nation.

@NoFarmsNoFoods Do you guys have a website or anything? Trying to find ways of supporting farmers when I don't live anywhere with "locally sourced" foods and can't really get to those areas.

“I buy avocados that are grown in Mexico and shipped to the UK.” “I buy tomatoes that are grown in Morocco and shipped to the UK.” “I buy soybeans that are grown in Brazil and shipped to the UK.” "Red meat from local UK farmers should be reduced. It’s bad for the planet.” 🤷‍♂️

@ClarksonsFarm1 Jeremy, what you need is to get to know Mexico and pajaretes, raw cow's milk and coffee, straight from the stable, and if you want a little alcohol, that's available too. This relationship I'm mentioning coincides with C3 C4 C5 , D3 D4 D5 , F3 F4 F5 From one farmer to another

lots of strange reactions to this game. let’s clear some things up: childless men do not have paternal instincts the way that childless women have maternal instincts (we observe this even in the way little girls play vs. little boys). men first experience paternal instincts once they have their own children - and typically, those paternal instincts are only ever felt for their own children, and no one else’s. men are not nurturers. men don’t gush over cute kids in public. men don’t have baby fever. if a man wants to possess a child for any reason other than it being a product of his own lineage, he is likely a predator. and you’d be taking the feminist/radical gender abolitionist position to protest any of the above points. this should explain why a “dad simulator” game marketed to mostly childless men gives people the creeps.

@MeebolicV2 @VIGIIQChanel @venturetwins I think they did studies that showed it actively dumbs people down, children and adults alike, especially if it's used for problem solving rather than things like coding or whatnot.

@BakeryBab @VIGIIQChanel @venturetwins Exactly how I feel. Based on what the mom said the kid had been using it for, I imagine that's a good, smart kid, but I think continuing to use it could potentially lead to overusing it and it genuinely robbing them of some of their creativity and whatever else over time.

@VIGIIQChanel @venturetwins Yeah like mom is clearly a crackpot, but it's not actually a bad thing to discourage a kid from using AI like a "friend". Kids are way too vulnerable and AI is way too prone to saying awful things.

@venturetwins I don't think kids should be using AI too much. They need to develop their own creativity and social skills. They need to learn how to navigate through tough things through experience.

@NoFarmsNoFoods I saw on Clarkson's Farm that in a couple decades there won't be any left and then we'll be 100% reliant on the EU for our meat, since we won't be able to produce any. It's a horrible, horrible thought.

There has been a huge reduction in UK abattoirs. Abattoir numbers have declined from 2,500 in the 1970s to just 200 today which in turn, makes it much more difficult for many farmers to sell their meat locally & higher transportation costs to reach an abattoir further afield.

@RiffRaffBae @NoFarmsNoFoods There are zero negative health factors to red meat. It is our most natural and organic food to eat. We can eat ONLY red meat and actually thrive. You have been brainwashed by food pyramid policy. Eating meat is not like smoking that is a remedial statement to make.

@NoFarmsNoFoods It is a choice whether people eat red meat, but to deny the *real* unbiased evidence of the negative health impacts of red meat is a pathetic beta cope. Eating meat is like smoking, if you do it, fucking own it.
