Keir Starmer was elected on a vow to clean up British politics. There is now only one way he can fuflill that promise. He must resign > Daily Mail > dailymail.co.uk/debate/article…

@Marlayna29 No in the survival of the species sense, yes in the day to day sense.

@CleansedTweets It is wrong but all the more reason to marry people from your own country. Come illegally, get a posh hotel, benefits and get to do what they want legal or illegal.

Britain 🇬🇧 seemingly has an open border policy.
But, there's one group of people who are stuck & can’t get in & they happen to be British. Those who married foreign nationals whilst working abroad & often have children are stuck. Here’s why & it's shocking IMHO:
The UK immigration system doesn't care about your love story. It's a financial trap that leaves most expat dads or mums stuck overseas if you're not earning big or sitting on serious cash. The legal process is brutal.
Lets take a family for instance, of which I have met many in this position.
The (British national) mum must first return to the UK alone for a minimum of six months. During this time, she needs to:
-Secure suitable accommodation
-Find and start a job (minimum 29,000 pound per year & this is set to increase).
-Remain in continuous employment for at least 6 months
Once she has 6 consecutive payslips, she can then submit the spousal visa application for her family. Visa processing time: Typically 6 weeks to 3 months.
This process can result in the mother being separated from her family for up to 9–12 months, depending on how long it takes her to find a job & accommodation before the 6-month employment period even begins.
Recently, some improvement to the process have been implemented; if the British sponsor has overseas employment income and a confirmed UK job offer starting within 3 months of return, they can often combine both under Category A or B of Appendix FM to meet the £29,000 threshold. But families I have met still find this of no help. They still have months of separation & as a friend of mine said, how does someone get a 29,000 GBP job in the UK when you are abroad? How does that work when the job market is so competitive. They added, that UK employers are not accustom to TEAMS / SKYPE / interviews - applications made went un-answered.
Families I have met just can't be separated for that amount time, pay for two sets of lives in two different countries & and the visa costs are extreme. Why is it 2,064 pounds for your wife's visa!!
But wait, it gets better!!
If you want to skip the long process and not have the father return to the UK alone, look for a job, get the payslips etc .... you can bypass all that process if you have:
88,500 Pound in the bank (120,000 USD). 👀
Yeah you read that right. WTF

Stadlen must be the only person on X who defends Starmer. Very weird.
Matthew Stadlen@MatthewStadlen
Imagine how FURIOUS certain journalists and commentators will be if, as now looks likely, this latest furore fails to bring down Starmer.
