세월호 참사 12주기가 되었습니다. 제 생일은 4월 2일입니다. 2014년 참사 2주 전, 생일 선물로 처음 한국어 사전을 받았습니다. 세월호는 대한민국의 현실을 처음으로 마주하게 된 계기였습니다. 희생자들이 저와 같은 또래였기에 늘 마음이 무겁습니다 세월호와 함께 진실이 가라앉지 않도록 합시다

On April 16, 2014, a ferry carrying high school students from Ansan to Jeju Island capsized. 304 people, mostly high school students from Danwon High School, perished in the accident. They were told to stay put while help arrived. Help never arrived.

The captain and ship's crew evacuated first and left the children to drown in the cold, spring sea. 12 years later, there are still questions unanswered. 17-year-old victim Lim Gyeong-bin was pulled from the icy waters on that fateful day still alive, but unconscious.

He was left on a Coast Guard vessel for 40-50 minutes before medical helicopters were dispatched. Lim Gyeong-bin's family sued the government after the Disaster, arguing he was rescued alive but died due to delayed transport and inadequate emergency care.

In 2024, the Courts acknowledged serious failures in the response and held the state partially liable, but stopped short of confirming he would have survived with proper treatment. Still, the families fight for justice and recognition.

From the Park, to Moon, to Yoon, and now the Lee administration, we join the victim's families in finding justice for the victims of the Sewol Ferry Disaster. Never let the truth sink with the Sewol. 🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️🎗️
