Gas prices are rising fast—and Canadians are paying more than they should. Today, Conservatives called for zero taxes on gas and diesel for the rest of 2026 to give Canadians immediate relief at the pump. Right now, Canadians are paying significantly more than Americans—$1.78 per litre here compared to about $1.50. The difference isn’t just global markets. It’s taxes. Liberal fuel taxes are driving up the cost of everything—from groceries to commuting to getting kids to hockey practice. That’s why Conservatives are calling to scrap the federal excise tax and remove the GST on top of it—putting real money back in Canadians’ pockets. While other countries are cutting fuel taxes to help their citizens, this government is doubling down—raising costs at exactly the worst time. Canadians don’t need a Prime Minister who says he’s “watching closely.” They need relief now. We can lower costs, cut wasteful spending, and make life more affordable—starting with zero tax on gas.

Canadians deserve a justice system that puts the safety of our communities first. Instead, we’re seeing yet another troubling case where someone convicted in the death of a child is allowed to remain in Canada—despite a deportation order tied to serious criminality. When decisions like this are made, Canadians are left asking a simple question—whose side is the system on? Where is the accountability? Families across this country expect a system that prioritizes their safety, protects the vulnerable, and delivers real consequences for serious crimes. We need a system that restores confidence, not erodes it. Because when justice feels uncertain, trust in our institutions begins to break down.

There’s a growing frustration across the country—and it’s not hard to see why. Canadians are hearing a lot of announcements—but not seeing results. Big promises. Press conferences. Re-announcements of the same ideas. But for families and seniors, life is still getting more expensive—and nothing seems to change. This isn’t about politics—it’s about outcomes. Canadians don’t need more announcements. They need action that actually makes life more affordable. Because at the end of the day, results are what matter.

Seniors in the Calgary area are being pushed to the brink. A new report from the Calgary Food Bank shows that 64% of older adults are experiencing food insecurity for the first time in their lives. These are people who did everything right—worked hard, saved what they could, and planned for retirement. But today’s reality looks very different than what they were promised. Rising costs for housing, groceries, utilities, and healthcare have changed the equation—and for those on fixed incomes, there’s no room to adjust. 70% are worried about affording housing in the next year. Many are taking on debt just to get by. And more seniors than ever are turning to food banks. This didn’t happen overnight. Over the past decade, government decisions have made life more expensive—driving up the cost of housing, energy, and everyday essentials. And while support programs exist, they haven’t kept pace with the reality seniors are facing. We can—and must—do better. That means focusing on bringing costs down, protecting fixed incomes, and making sure seniors can actually afford to live with dignity in the communities they helped build. Because after a lifetime of hard work, no senior should be choosing between groceries and bills.

Over 150,000 suspected cases of student visa fraud—and no plan to deal with it. The Carney Government admits it can only investigate a fraction. That’s unacceptable. At a time when young Canadians are struggling to find work and confidence in our system is falling, Canadians deserve better. Conservatives are pushing for real accountability: Investigate every case. Be transparent with Canadians. Ensure consequences for those who break the rules. We’re ready to work with the Liberals to fix this inaction and restore confidence in our immigration system.

In response to this, Conservatives introduced a very simple motion that read: “That the committee unequivocally condemn forced labour practices in China.” The Liberals responded by attempting to replace “in China” with “globally.” When asked to demonstrate the most basic concern for China’s human rights record, Liberals cannot bring themselves to do it.
Raquel Dancho@RaquelDancho

Disturbing. Did this Liberal MP really just deny that forced labour practices are taking place in China? This is a documented problem. Why is this MP carrying water for the Chinese regime?

The Liberals promised 500,000 homes a year. Now they’re offering a one-year tax break and calling it a solution. This is just another bait-and-switch to cover up a decade of failure. A temporary gimmick won’t fix a national housing crisis. Builders need long-term certainty—not short-term headlines. Instead of real action, this plan delivers just 8,000 homes—nowhere near what Canadians were promised. Conservatives have a real solution: remove the sales tax on new homes nationwide—permanently—to get more homes built and bring costs down. Canadians deserve results—not excuses.

We’re told over and over again that veterans can “just apply” and get the support they need. That’s not what’s happening. I’ve heard directly from a major service provider that it took 28 months just to get approved to serve veterans—only to then be told they’re considered “out-of-network” and won’t receive referrals. So while the government claims services are available, veterans can’t access them—and providers willing to help are being shut out. That’s not a system that works. That’s a system that’s failing the very people who served our country. Veterans deserve real access to care, honest information, and a government that actually delivers.

Safer Streets, Not a Gun Grab The Liberals are pushing a $750M gun grab that targets law-abiding Canadians instead of criminals. It won’t stop illegal guns. It won’t stop violent offenders. And it won’t make our communities safer. Even their own minister admits the program doesn’t make sense—while they fail to hire the RCMP officers they promised. Canadians deserve real action: Crack down on illegal guns. End soft-on-crime bail. Jail violent offenders. Only Conservatives will protect responsible gun owners and deliver safer streets.

The Liberals have it backwards. Crime is rising. Repeat offenders are being released. Communities are less safe. And instead of fixing the problem they created, they’re going after people of faith. Bill C-9 would remove a long-standing safeguard in the Criminal Code—one that protects Canadians who express their beliefs in good faith, including quoting their own religious texts. Let’s be clear: calls for violence, hatred, or genocide are already illegal in Canada. There is no religious defence for that—and there shouldn’t be. So this isn’t about public safety. It’s about targeting freedom of expression and freedom of religion while violent crime continues to surge across the country. Canadians don’t need more attacks on their freedoms. They need safer streets. Conservatives will keep fighting to scrap the Liberal catch-and-release bail laws and restore common sense to our justice system.

We ask everything of our veterans. The least we can do is thank them. These are men and women who gave so much for our country, and too often, that sacrifice goes unrecognized in our day-to-day lives. A simple “thank you” can mean more than we realize. But recognition is only part of it. Right now, too many veterans aren’t getting the support they deserve—and we’re seeing organizations step up to fill the gaps where the government is falling short. If you’re able, consider supporting those groups with your time or resources. Let’s do our part to make sure our veterans are seen, supported, and never forgotten.

It’s been a year—and life is still unaffordable for too many Canadians. Half of Canadians are living paycheque to paycheque. 1 in 3 can’t pay off their credit cards each month. More families are feeling overwhelmed just trying to keep up. Household debt has now climbed past $3.2 trillion. Canadians were promised relief—but they’re still waiting. After a year in power, costs are still rising and too many people are falling behind. Canadians deserve a plan that brings costs down, restores affordability, and helps families get ahead again.

Nearly 8 kilograms of fentanyl—enough to devastate entire communities—was seized on a Saskatchewan highway. And now, the charges have been dropped. Two Calgary suspects were arrested and charged with trafficking, but the case was stayed. This is happening while fentanyl continues to fuel a deadly crisis across Canada. After years of soft-on-crime policies and a justice system increasingly out of touch with the realities on our streets, Canadians are left asking: who is this system actually protecting? Decisions like this undermine confidence in our justice system and put communities at risk. Canadians deserve a system that holds serious offenders accountable, prioritizes public safety, and delivers real consequences—not excuses.

Canadians deserve to feel safe in their own homes. Conservatives introduced Bill C-270 — the Stand on Guard Act — to strengthen protections for Canadians who defend themselves and their families during a home invasion. Right now, Canadians are increasingly concerned about rising crime and the ability to protect their loved ones. Violent crime is up, home invasions are happening more often, and too many people feel the system isn’t keeping up. No one should have to hesitate in a moment of danger, wondering if defending their family could lead to criminal charges. This legislation would clarify the law so that reasonable force is presumed justified when used against an illegal intruder. Conservatives are calling on the government to work with us to pass Bill C-270 and ensure Canadians can protect themselves in their own homes.

Mark Carney claims Canada will “release more oil” to help global supply. There’s just one problem: Canada doesn’t even have a strategic oil reserve. You can’t release stockpiles that don’t exist. And there’s still no pipeline to get it to market. The reality is Carney continues the same approach—keeping Trudeau’s anti-development laws, maintaining the industrial carbon tax, and failing to approve major energy projects. Canadians don’t need more illusions from the Liberals. We need real action to unlock our energy, support our allies, and strengthen our economy.

Canada lost 83,900 jobs in February while unemployment climbed to 6.7%. — one of the largest monthly drops in nearly two decades. Two months. Over 109,000 jobs gone. Canadians are feeling the consequences of a slowing economy due to Liberal policies that drive investment away. Conservatives have a plan to get Canada’s economy growing again - I encourage the Carney Government to work with us to implement it.

Today marks the anniversary of the end of Canada’s Mission in Afghanistan. During our nation’s longest combat deployment, Canadian Armed Forces members served with courage and determination in one of the most challenging missions in our country’s history. 158 Canadians never returned home, and many more continue to carry the physical and mental wounds of service. We remember the sacrifice of the 158 Canadians who gave their lives during the war in Afghanistan, and we honour the thousands who served our country with dedication and bravery. Their service, sacrifice, and commitment to defending freedom will never be forgotten. Lest we forget. N’oublions jamais.
