Muslims, once again, targeted and attacked in the UK, this time in Edinburgh. None of this is happening in a vacuum. Rupert Lowe, Tommy Robinson and their ilk have put a target on the backs of Muslims for years. Hardly a surprise people are now acting on their words.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested after a series of violent attacks across Edinburgh, appearing to target Muslims, which left five people injured. Sky's Phoebe Southworth reports. trib.al/YdduONW 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233 and YouTube

@NixToWaddle That's not the right comparison point though. When they signed Wilson, he was on a Hall of Fame trajectory. Obviously it failed but you can pay Bo less than that

@straightoutagas @chanel20482 Yeah, about how Russ sucks. Most over rated QB of the modern era. Dude got carried by Lynch, the LOB and plain old good luck. About the only thing he was decent at was scrambling because he can't read a defense and get the ball out on time to save his fuckin' life.

@revenant_MMXX @kenzietuff @junker_jo This isn't bad, but doesn't always work. We have always had a system of chores and responsibilities for our children to help us maintain the house and develop a sense of responsibility for the cleanliness of their environment and the older they've gotten the harder it's become.

It's not that hard to just set boundaries by acclimating them to situations where this won't be a problem. We play in the yard, on the playground, and when cars are nearby, we hold hands. I don't know what situation people are imagining where they have to quickly leap into action and spank their kid to stop them from running into the street. How would the mechanics of this even work? And when you start asking these questions, you realize that these people have just invented an imaginary situation where they'd feel morally righteous about hitting their kid (because they actually just want to hit their kids the rest of the time too)
Jo@junker_jo

The example I always see come up is “running into traffic” but A. my daughter has never come close to running into the street, perhaps *because* we walk in high-traffic areas every single day together and she’s developed an understanding of the way it operates, and B. the few times she has run off and not stopped when I called (eg in a park) I caught up to her, knelt down and looked her in the eye, and reprimanded her with a serious tone in my voice and it scared the shit out of her. And I hate even doing that, but it definitely was more impactful than hitting, which immediately would come off as stupid to me.
