Is some of this a question of preparation? Not having already thought deeply about issues or challenging your own ideas? The goal should be to not think of an objection to your point for the first time when it’s brought to you in a debate. I have debates in my head constantly. It’s quite exhausting, but I’m prepared. It also means my answer on almost any topic is, “it depends.”

@mastashredda @ADHDForReal Nah, it's just like the post says. I can hold my own in a written debate where I have time to think about what I want to say, but my god would I get absolutely destroyed in a verbal one. A good debater can make a weak argument sound strong and vice versa.

@GavinNewsom Democrats fought to have Trump banned from all social media platforms while he was still president in his first term. Did you forget what Truth Social even exists? He had to make his own platform just to speak. Not so fun when the shoe is on the other foot, is it?
