Given the amount of conferences that I speak at and the number of wonderful people like you that I have been able to connect with, I'm often asked if I can raise money for startups or connect them with investors but that is complicated to do as a service given licensing and regulatory compliance issues.
Syndicated investments, like on platforms like AngelList, help this by allowing me to group individual, smaller investors into one single investment for a startup, but sadly, AngelList doesn't really work for Europe.
@Uniborn_com is solving this. It is a new European platform that is one part social media, allowing people to connect and join groups (syndicates) to learn about specific startup investments, and one part infrastructure, creating the legal process for those syndicated deals.
I'm excited that they've asked me to launch one of the first groups on the platform and even more excited to invite those of you that are interested in early-stage startup investments to join me there.
1. It is free to join Uniborn and my syndicate (cartel). The minimum investment in startups will be 1000€.
2. You do not have to be a VC or existing business angel. Unlike in the US, this is not limited to "accredited" investors. (the total number of investors per deal is limited for regulatory compliance, however)
3. Anyone in the world can join the group and invest, as long as you aren't from one of the countries commonly blacklisted for financial activities.
4. Startups will probably be primarily located in the EU, but could technically be from anywhere, as well.
5. Uniborn, as well as each startup investment syndicate, is based in Estonia.
📝 My primary investment category (thesis) will be around European Emerging Tech, covering the trifecta of web3, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. Given that it is not a fund, however, I'll be able to propose any interesting startup opportunities to the group.

Fine print: This not a solicitation to join a specific investment, it's basically a private whatsapp or facebook group where I can then communicate general information about a current investment opportunity. Group members who would like specific deal information and terms would then request access to that information, in order to stay compliant with general solicitation obligations. This is not an investment fund and there is no management of grouped capital from individuals. Each member would make an individual investment into the specific deal after considering any/all obligations and risks.
