With vaccine so scarce, we're grateful to our community partners, @EntreHermanos, @GayCitySeattle, @pocaaninfo, @LifelongWA, and @utopia_wa for helping to get the word out about an upcoming #monkeypox vaccination event aimed at reaching people at highest risk of recent exposure.
In light of evolving circumstances on the ground, I am declaring a public health emergency on #monkeypox. We are prepared to take our response to the next level in addressing this virus. We urge every American to take monkeypox seriously.

It’s time for California & San Francisco to declare a state of emergency on monkeypox. Monkeypox isn’t contained. It’s spreading & we don’t have enough vaccines or testing. A state of emergency allows flexibility on testing, contracting for services & vaccine administration.
Just passed hundreds of people waiting outside of Steamworks for monkeypox vaccines and it made me both happy that so many people are taking this seriously and mad that the rollout of the vaccine has been so awful. It shouldn’t be like this!!!
