I have never forgotten the ending of #TheDiaryOfAnneFrank: “I still believe that people are really good at heart.” I think this has always been my central tenant & why I try to be a bridge builder. God bless her & us. #AnneFrank #peace #NeverForget

Mattie Stepanek was devoted to prayer for the holy souls in Purgatory. Let us remember to keep the deceased in our own prayers. May all the souls of the faithful, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. #MattieMatters #MattiesGuild #Heartsongs #Catholic

a concept that Mattie beautifully articulated. His legacy continues to inspire my work daily. In my recent book about luminaries—children who have passed away yet left behind profound life lessons—

His gentle presence and strength were deeply inspiring, and I hung on his every word. The phrase “heartsong” holds special significance for me, as I often describe my role as a therapist as someone who shares the heartsongs of others—

“Meeting Mattie Stepanek at a Children’s Hospice International event was a profound experience for me. As an admirer who owned all his books and regularly listened to his wisdom, encountering him in person left me transfixed.

Our Lady’s prayers are so powerful! e.l.f Cosmetics co-founder Deacon Scott Borba will be ordained a priest on May 23, 2026, in the Diocese of Fresno, California. Deacon Borba is a former esthetician, actor, model, author, and singer who gave up his multimillion-dollar career to follow a call to the priesthood. He spent over 20 years working in the health and beauty industry and donated all of his wealth to charity after answering a lifelong call to the priesthood at the age of 42. According to Angelus News, Borba said God called him to the priesthood at the age of 10, but he “accepted late.” He also told his conversion story to yourcentralvalley.com in a 2019 interview, explaining that “God has blessed me with everything under the sun.” Borba said he asked God to allow him to fulfill multiple dreams, to which he felt the Lord say “yes.” “He not only blessed me with money and awareness, and just every business I had, he allowed me to have success with it,” Borba said. “Then I decided, you know, what is wrong with me? I was vapid. I had a perverse life. “I went to LA, I got sucked into the Hollywood lifestyle,” he continued. “It was almost to a point where I was trying to sell my soul.” “I was living for myself. I was idolizing myself,” he explained. “I was idolizing everything else out there that was luxury. I was a poster boy for luxury.” Borbra said his family prayed for his conversion for many years, and people approached him about entering the priesthood “a thousand times.” According to Angelus News, he recalled a particular moment his mother mentioned it to him at Mass when he was in the third grade. "At Mass, she asked me to look up at the altar, and if I wanted to be the man in the robes," Borba said. "Whoever the priest was, his robes at that moment were shimmering like glitter. … And I knew God was placing on my heart to become a priest." He eventually realized his worldly life is “not where we’re supposed to be. We’re supposed to be living for Heaven.” “Not only did I accept the call [to the priesthood], but everything that God gave me– all my money all of my everything I had, including the current company I have– I have given it all away.” He especially credits the Blessed Mother’s prayers for helping him answer this call. "I know that our Blessed Mother has brought me into this vocation because of her love for me and for her Son," he said in the Angelus News story. "I have never been happier. I have never been more full of joy.” Let us pray for Deacon Scott Borba and all those entering the priesthood! churchpop.com/elf-cosmetics-…

BREAKING: Southwest Airlines has paid nearly $1 million to a flight attendant it fired for expressing her pro-life views. Charlene Carter, who worked 21 years as a flight attendant, was terminated in 2017 after she sent pro-life messages to leaders of the Transport Workers Union Local 556. The messages protested the union’s support for the 2017 Women’s March, a radical pro-abortion event which was linked to Planned Parenthood. Carter had resigned from the union in 2013 over religious differences. But she was still required to pay union dues. She sued both Southwest Airlines and the union, arguing the firing retaliated against her pro-life convictions. A federal jury in 2022 agreed, ruling that the airline and union violated her rights under federal law. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the decision. U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr ordered Southwest to reinstate Carter and pay her more than $810,000 in damages, including about $150,000 in back pay. The judge also required the airline to notify employees of their rights against religious discrimination. But Southwest drug its feet. And in 2023, Judge Starr held Southwest in contempt. Today, Southwest satisfied the judgment by paying Carter $946,102.87, according to a court filing. Carter welcomed the resolution as a victory for religious liberty. “Today is a victory for freedom of speech and religious beliefs,” she said. “Flight attendants should have a voice and nobody should be able to retaliate against a flight attendant for engaging in protected speech against her union.”
