@InternetH0F This is more of an urban legend than actual fact. The earthquake took place in January, which isn't Milky Way core season. Not all of LA lost power, so there still would've been some degree of light pollution. The stars might've appeared a little brighter, but that's about it.

In 1994, during a power outage, the only time the Milky Way was visible in the city of Los Angeles, many people were scared by the sight and called 911
